It was a ladies night out. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday and the place was empty. We had made a reservation. We chose this place due to good reviews.
We ordered the house Malbec, it was good. We enjoyed the tempura sushi roll appetizer- even the non sushi lovers loved it! There were large 8 pieces.
My friend loved the Arctic char dish. Best fish she had ever had. Good portion sizes. My other friend and I ordered the elk medallions, cooked medium. One plate was definitely undercooked, but it was no problem to get it cooked a little more. Dishes were artfully presented and delicious.
The service was lacking. Other tables next to us got much more attention than we did. Once our dishes arrived and the initial "check-in" was done after we had two bites, we were virtually ignored. She was abrupt and would be talking to the next table before she left ours. We were on a time crunch and at 7:55 I asked for my meat to be better cooked and for the bill because we needed to leave by 8:00. She finally came to take our payment at 8:25 and we were out of there by 8:30. We split the bill 3 ways and she added it up out loud in front of us to ensure we had calculated her tip correctly.
Overall a pleasant experience with filling and tasty food. Just make sure you have a couple hours and don't expect amazing service.
