We had been travelling for 6 weeks and I can safely tell you this was the oddest experience...
We booked directly with the owner and within a few hours we had received an email requesting that I do them a favour.
We arrived admittedly a day later than planned (but had phoned to inform them) and within 5 minutes of arriving we were told that we weren't really supposed to be there as they had more or less closed for the season and weren't really taking any more people. Very welcoming!
We were there a couple of nights and we felt like we were truly intruding. On the morning of the 3rd day, Lisa approached me and asked us to leave asap. I was shocked to say the least. We were told that we were too noisy, our tv was too loud and that we'd be better off in a hotel. That it was not working out as Lisa had 6.30am starts dropping her son to hockey and that her husband had 5.30am starts. (not our problem) She claimed that all B&B's in Banff had the same mentality but there is no evidence to support this. We were not too noisy, we did arrive in very late one night after watching a live band in town (which she had recommended) but we were certainly very mindful of people sleeping. It felt like being back in boarding school. The fact that we had to pay for this experience and treatment still annoys me.
We left that morning and it was a blessing in disguise as we may have left Banff with a tainted impression if we had stayed for the final 2 days.
