“Fantastic Christmas & New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We stayed in room 329 for our ten day stay and all of our expectations were exceeded! The reception colleagues, housekeeping, restuarant and management are exceptional. The room was spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated. The Hot Pool is a most welcome relief for those aching muscles! Chillis is conveniently located downstairs and provides good food + room service.

My advice to management is to consider more children activities and make the process of checking-in clearer.....you are presented with hundreds of different brochures and it can be confusing.....perhaps a concierge who has dedicated time to take new guests through Banff and the various activities on offer.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with fantastic service which did not end until we left. Cozy rooms which were spacious and warm (we stayed in a loft room). Amazing hot tub like none I have been in before. We had no need to go to the hot springs in Banff with a hot tub like that. Usually hotel hot tubs fit 8 people if you are lucky. This one could fit 50 easily and was designed like an under water cave with a cieling that opend up to the beautiful night sky so it didn't even get to hot. Nicest hotel we have stayed in Banff, will definetly go back.

“Amazing service, friendly staff, cozy and unique loft suite.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

We arrived at 12:00 am on New Year's Day.
And we're taken such good care of. We loved our room and the location is central but quiet.
Definitely recommend.
The hot tub is incredible.. Warm parking.
They actually make chillies look almost inviting.

“Wonderful Christmas at Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

We stayed for 5 days in the loft suite for the week of Christmas. For two adults and one 2 year old it was perfect. The suite was beautiful warm tones and accented with pine wood beams and moldings. The large windows for the balcony were wonderful for the morning light and the view of the mountains all around us was a nice thing to wake up to. It was cold enough for us to store our frozen foods in a cooler on the balcony. Chili's delivered to the room and we used this service twice. I'm not a huge fan of Chili's but it was good. I thought idea of going outside to get to the hot tub and breakfast would be a hinderance but honestly it was fine. I loved the hot tub with the -20 weather it made it extremely steamy and fun. The hot tub was great for are whole family. My two year old would sit on the edge and marvel at the steam when he was too hot. It was hard to get him out. The complimentary breakfast was nothing above and beyond it was a simple spread of toast, pastries, granola, fruit loops, shreddies, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt, cottage cheese and a waffle maker. The wait staff served the coffee. It filled us up but did get boring after the third day. It would be nice to have some hot food like bacon, sausage or scrambled eggs but defiantly not a deal breaker. The underground parking was great and really helped when my car doesn't do well in -20.

The only thing they could improve on is the up keep of the hot tub change rooms. Because people had to go outside to get to it there was a lot of mud, dirt and grim on the floor. Towels got used up fast so you risked running out. Feminine products were available but not always restocked. Some up keep on these things would have improved my experience. Otherwise it is a beautiful and wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: I loft gives you a lot of room for families and a beautiful view. If it's winter keep frozen foo...

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We spent the night at this hotel for our anniversary. We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite with double beds. When I booked I forgot to stipulate a queen bed instead of two beds but did mention it was our wedding anniversary so assumed we'd be placed in a room with a queen. This was not the hotels fault but it would have been nice to have had a larger bed since they were giving us a complimentary upgrade anyway. When we arrived at the room the toilet did not work so maintenance had to come in to replace a part. This should have been done before we checked in.
This hotel has rooms that all open to the outside and therefore you must go outside (with your luggage) to reach your room or to get from your room to the hot tub. Therefore, not very family friendly (especially with smaller children) as you have to undress and redress them once you reach the hot tub. The hot tub is very hot so not really good for kids anyway. No pool but there is a dry sauna next to the hot tub.
The continental breakfast was ok but we would have preferred to have had menu service and paid for our meal. We don't generally like to eat buffet style as we don't like the idea of food sitting out in the open where there is the chance that someone has coughed on it, etc. The waitress did serve coffee which was nice. All in all....nothing memorable

Room Tip: You must request a queen or king bed or you will get a double bed.
