“Immaculate home, superior hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Theresa & James couldn't have been nicer! We stayed 2 nights and had amazing breakfasts both mornings. Our bed was too hard for our liking and the pillows also too hard, but had we asked, I'm sure they would have produced softer pillows. With their attention to guest satisfaction, they probably would have gone out to buy pillows just for us! The TV in our room was a 12" wall-mounted that really deserves to be upgraded to a larger flat screen. We didn't spend any time in the room so it wasn't a problem. The guest living room/outdoor patio & breakfast area were all lovely. A nice touch was to set out complimentary after dinner liquours, not to mention the arrival cookies. We asked if we could use their laundry and in order to keep the machines open for their use, early morning was best. Theresa offered to put it in for us as she got up first. Expecting to dry & fold my things at breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised to find it all done & folded for us!!! Theresa went above and beyond and we were most appreciative! Would definitely give them the highest rating imaginable.

“Five stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

It would be easy to skip this review because it would sound like an echo of all the ones before it.
But Theresa and James work too hard for that ..and deserve another standing ovation. We stayed four nights..off season -and would go back in a flash. Theresa is so lovely, a natural host and cook: James is like the local tourist board. He's been everywhere and his advice was something no hotel employee could match. Our room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The breakfasts were varied and among the best the whole trip. The late afternoon baked goods were divine...and didn't spoil our dinners out. The hosts are social people:easy to be around and interesting. They definitely have perfected their ' calling' in life.

“A perfect home away from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2012

We had a short but amazing stay at Buffaloberry! It is a lovely purpose built home with very comfortable surroundings and underground parking. It is located right within the town of Banff so very accessible to everything by walking. Very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms, a wonderful guest lounge with fireplace and deck and delicious home cooked breakfast and afternoon scones! Theresa and James are perfect hosts with lots of knowledge of the area. We have been to many B&B's over the years and this one tops them all!

Room Tip: All rooms are beautifully decorated and located. The rooms aren't large but with the guest loung...

“Absolutely Perfect, Could Not Fault Anything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

I have to agree with all the other rave reviews here: this place is fantastic.

Theresa & Michael are fantastic friendly hosts. They could not have been more welcoming if they tried, but at the same time not intrusive. They gave us tips on things to see and getting around, lent us ski bags, and were great to chat to about what we'd seen that day or what was going on in town.

The breakfasts were phenomenal, we had a different for each day we were there. They were gourmet meals with a selection of fruits, muesli, yoghurt, toast, muffins plus Theresa's special of the day. We were fed so well that we didn't eat lunch once while we were there, and skipped dinner a couple of times too. Theresa would also leave out some afternoon snacks for when we got back at the end of the day.

The rooms have every comfort you could want. They're spacious, with big comfy beds, have individual temperature controls, heated floors. Everything is covered. The common area is great too with leather couches and a nice roaring fire at the end of the day. The place is absolutely spotless, I'm sure you could eat off the floor - it's that clean.

It is a bit expensive, especially if you go in summer, but they gave us a free night's stay because we stayed for 6 nights which brought the cost down. But the hospitality and attention to detail made it worth it for us, and we can't wait to come back again.

Thank you for your review of the Buffaloberry. We like to serve-up a good breakfast as we really enjoy a good breakfast ourselves, to start the day. The best part of the bed and breakfast business is sharing stories from our guests about all the things they are doing on their holidays, like seal watching on the east coast or taking in the Northern Lights in Yellowknife! It is great when guests have the time to stay longer and settle in to our mountain town. We offer the last night free with a minimum 5 night stay.
We look forward to hopefully seeing you both again

“Worth every penny”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

We stayed at the Buffaloberry B&B in February, while sightseeing in the area for a couple of days and there was one thing wrong with our visit - we did not have enough time to spend in this lovely home enjoying the amenities!
This is a really special, very well thought out, beautifully presented Bed and Breakfast, with thoughtful and attentive hosts Theresa and James on hand to ensure you have a really relaxing stay. The room was very good, with lovely bathroom and views of the mountains, but the big thing here is the Great Room, where beverages of choice are served in lovely surroundings, with pleasant music, interesting items to look at, and where delicious and original breakfasts of the highest standard are served. As a very critical bed and breakfast owner myself, we booked this simply because the reviews were so good, and it was indeed a real treat. As we were dashing in and out, snacks were left in case we had missed out on meals, very thoughtfully (white chocolate and cranberry scones, warm banana bread...) which were indicative of the levels that this experienced couple go to in providing the personal touch. This was more than we would normally spend, but for sheer indulgence and a great time, it was worth every penny and we would highly recommend you treat yourself whenever you can!
We were travelling for nearly three weeks in Canada, and this was the highlight - visit soon!
