“Great place to stay in Banff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2008

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at the Banff Avenue B&B and loved it. The B&B is spotlessly clean and hosts Connie and Jamie are very friendly. Jamie in particular gave us wonderful suggestions for walks and tours to take during our stay. They also encouraged us to use their kitchen, so we saved money by eating in for several nights rather than going to the local restaurants. The morning breakfasts with the other guests were lots of fun with friendly chatter and good food. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Banff!

Hosts were nice enough, location was great, breakfasts were pretty good and rooms were nice.

The place itself was kinda small.... and rightly or wrongly, we felt like we needed to be excessively quiet all the time.

Nice and not bad value - but may not be for those that havent stayed at B&B's before.

Can highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting Banff. The hosts Connie and Jaime were excellent, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible and both eager to share their local knowldege with us. The rooms were a reasonable size, pleasantly furnished, the bathroom was adequate with room for a shower but no bath. There are no TV's in the rooms, but there is a separate communal lounge with TV, aswell as another lounge/ sitting room. The B&B is located on the main road into Banff, which can be busy and quite noisy at times, with the town centre being an easy 5/10 min walk away.
This was one of our favourite B&B's that we stayed in during our trip across the Rockies and Connie's breakfasts were amongst the best we had.

My husband and i, stayed at the Banff Avenue B+ B for two nights, 10th+ 11th August 2008. We were warmly welcomed by Connie, the friendly host with coffee and coconut cake. Our room and the rest of the property were spotless and comfortable. The breakfasts were wonderful and are freshly cooked by Connie every day. Our room had both a bath and shower and was very spacious.
The host ,Connie was very helpful in recommending walks, activities and restaurants around the Banff area. We would not hestitate in highly recommending this property to anyone visiting the Banff area.

Connie & Jamie greeted us with tea and apple pie. They were both very welcoming and friendly without being overwhelming. We enjoyed talking to them both and to other guests at breakfast. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and had tsupersoft towels and facecloths replaced during that time. The shower was lovely and hot. The breakfasts were huge! Fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, muffins plus a cooked option each day - although my husband managed the huge cooked portions I had to ask for smaller portions! It was all carefully produced and well presented - a real delight to be so well looked after. Jamie shared ideas of places to go and "hike" based on their own local knowledge and experience that we felt privileged to find out about. No hesitation at all in recommending Banff avenue B & B!

What a fabulous find this place is. This was our first trip to Canada and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Banff Avenue B and B for a total of 5 nights. Connie and Jamie were fabulous hosts and could not do enough for you. Their knowledge of the area allowed us to get the most out of our time in Banff.
The B and B is well situated on Banff Avenue the mainroad through the centre of Banff. Downtown Banff is only a 5-10 minutes walk away.
Our room was on the lower level of the house. It was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a great size with a very good bath and shower. Outside the room was a small lounge area which was great for relaxing in on an evening.
Breakfasts were fantastic. They really set you up for the day. Each day there was something different on the menu. Breakfasts were served around a large table which was great. This allowed you to meet people, which we did from around the world. Tips were shared as to what to do and not do.
Banff itself is a beautiful town. It is a 'must do' for anyone visiting Canada. There is plenty to do but most people only stay a couple of nights. To really appreciate the town and this area you need at least 4-5 nights.
While staying in Banff, we did the Plain of Six Glaciers hike at Lake Louise and hiked up Sulpher Mountain ( we caught the Gondola back down at half price). The views and wildlife from both these areas are stunning. We booked a full day horse riding with Warner Stables which was a great day. We rode up mountains and across rivers. We visited the Cave and Basin (the first hot springs) and Bow falls, both which are within easy walking distance. For aching bones and tired feet the Hot Springs is a must. The pools are at about 40 degrees. It will cost you approx £4 for as long as you want in the pools.
Finally eating out. There are lots of places to eat in Banff from the inexpensive to the A la Carte. We ate at Coyotes, which was good and was about mid-range in price. We also ate at the Maple Leaf which was quite pricy but the food was fabulous.
We would definately go back to Banff and would definately stay in the Banff Avenue B and B again. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed in banff for two nights at this lovely B+B. I have used trip advisor reviews in the past, and I wasn't disapponted with using it for this place. I agree with other reviews on the wonderful breakfast each morning. Although Connie wasn't there while we were visiting banff, her partner Jamie was and he was truly a wonderful host. Very helpful with local tips and places to go. Although we were out and about most of the day, we truly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean and there was a nice sitting area on the first floor and a TV viewing room on the basement level. Jamie gave us some helpful hints on places that he enjoyed on his own time off, and we were glad we took his advice. Thanks again for the wonderful stay.
