We stayed here for three nights in June 2013, the host's were very attentive both april and peter, even when we were trapped in Banff during the floods they supported us and gave good advice and kept us informed, the breakfast is amazing and varied, the room was great, location ideal to walk or drive from. Access to the fridge and coffee making was beyond our expectation as for the treats every day truly thoughtful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and wished all bed and breakfast were like this one, truly exceptional.

We stayed just one night here with Australian friends. Our rooms were very clean with lovely ensuite baths...ours even had a double sink. The beds were very comfortable and the home quiet...we slept very well. There is a common lounge/dining area and even a kitchen area with a full size fridge/microwave, tea/coffee making facility. The fridge was stocked with a good selection of milk/juice and there were also snacks provided. If you were staying longer, you would be able to make some simple meals for yourself.
This B&B has a great location...close enough to Banff to be able to walk and also walk to the Banff Fairmont and to the Bow river and falls. I would definitely recommend a walk to the falls after eating one of April's breakfasts!
When we arrived April brought down some brownies and M&M's for us to nibble on...a nice treat.
While I thought the website said only a continental breakfast was served, in fact it was a full cooked breakfast and it was fabulous...eggs, crispy bacon, sauteed veggies (can't get enough of those on the road!), and absolutely wonderful sauteed potatoes with cheese. My partner thought he had died and gone to heaven with this feast....and this was not including the fresh home baking and the yogurt/fruit parfait to start!!!
Our host Peter's eyes lit up when he saw the golf clubs in our car, and had we known we could have chose to golf here, but unfortuntely no time. Peter is a golfer,so you might want to see if he would be up for a game with you.
My partner and I are veteran bed and breakfasters and without doubt, this is one of the finest we have stayed at. April and Peter are wonderful hosts and would help in any way that they could.
One last thing to say is that they only have two rooms, and for us travelling as two couples it was very nice indeed to have the entire space just to ourselves to be able to continue visiting in the evening, rather than just being in our separate rooms.

My husband and I traveled to Banff in July 2013 as part of a 10 day Canadian Rockies vacation with my sister and her husband. As the date approached for our long awaited trip to Canada, it was our host April who emailed me to give us a heads up about the devastating flooding in Canmore and its potential impact on our travel plans. She kept me informed for a week as things developed and we were able to make the necessary travel changes due to closed highways, etc. As a result of her taking the time to monitor the situation for us, everything went off without a hitch. We stayed at At Wit's End for three nights. We were looking for a comfortable place to stay that would accommodate the four of us without any other guests. Having our own place to relax after a long day of hiking and seeing the sights was important to us and At Wit's End did not disappoint. First of all everything was immaculately clean and tidy. We had two bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom (also very clean) and very comfortable beds. The living area was long with an eating area at one end and a sitting area at the other. One suggestion we would have for April is to possibly add some more inviting seating and less harsh lighting to complement the very comfy sofa. We felt the opportunity to sit and have conversation was a little impeded by the furniture set up. Don't, however, let this small thing keep you from booking at this lovely bed and breakfast. April was a very gracious and helpful host and her breakfasts were out of this world...way beyond our expectations. Definitely got us off on the right foot each day. There also was a well stocked frig with lots of snacks, juices, etc. April was also extremely helpful by directing us to the health clinic and generously providing some first aid materials when one of us needed some medical attention. We felt our privacy was respected however on our last night April came downstairs excitedly to share with us that there was a VERY large elk just across the street. She knew we were big wildlife types and it was thrilling to see such a large animal grazing in a neighborhood! If you are looking for a comfortable place to put your feet up after a long day, At Wit's End is the place for you.

We stayed 4 nights at this place and really felt at home.

Our room was large and the king sized bed very comfortable.
Our bathroom was also spacious and it had a great shower.

April was a terrific host, one of the best we've come across in our travels.
The breakfasts were terrific - plenty to choose from and a good variety, and there was plenty of it!
April also provided snacks, fruit and different cakes or biscuits each day, which we appreciated.
It was like staying with a generous friend.

We really enjoyed coming "home" to At Wits End at the end of each day.
It is in a great location, just a walk across the beautiful river into town.
There is a separate entrance for guests and a very comfortable living area, and cable TV.

We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I would recommend the twin room as is larger and the hosts can join the beds together which makes a...

Our 2 night stay here was the perfect start to our trip. The room was spacious, spotless and quiet, the breakfasts were fantastic and April was an excellent host. We also really liked the location - within walking distance of all the amenities of Banff, but very peaceful and secluded. Highly recommended.

What a great time we had during our recent stay At Wits End! April and Peter were fantastic hosts. We have to echo many of the other reviews. Everything was clean, cozy, quiet, and made to feel like home. We stayed in the queen room and had a private bath. We always had clean towels and plenty of fresh mountain air. April always went out of her way to make our breakfast delicious and to our liking. She always had plenty of snacks and extras for us too. The fridge was well stocked! We found the private entrance and guest common area to be very delightful. April was always very helpful with ideas and activities for the day. Guide books for hiking and sightseeing, towels for the hot springs, and bug spray for our time in the woods...April always took care of us. We were always fed well, and breakfast was usually hearty enough that we never had to eat lunch (money $ saved). What a great decision we made to stay with April & Peter. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Stayed 3 nights at Wit's End in the Queen Room. Great location, nice room, and a very satisfying breakfast. April has long worked in the hospitality industry and it shows. She thinks of all the small touches, and will basically make anything you want for breakfast. In a place like Banff with generally high prices for accommodation At Wit's End represents great value!

Room Tip: Queen room was great with private bath including 2 sinks.
