The Spruce Grove Inn is directly adjacent to the Voyager Inn (same ownership), but there is no actual staff at Spruce Grove Inn...you must check in at Voyager.....the reception desk is always empty. A very long wait to check in as only 2 staff at Voyager check in desk and a lot of folks backed up.....I can live with that, but the room was not ready (at 3pm), so we had to wait an hour. I later found out this is because the Spruce Grove Inn has NO actual staff, they share the Voyager staff....the promised free wi-fi in the room could not have been worse, it was so slow I finally gave up....no amenities in the room at all. My bad for not checking reviews I guess. The topper is the complimentary continental breakfast....upon check in you receive a voucher for $7.00 of a full breakfast in the restaurant - nice, but they fail to mention their is only one staff member working in the restaurant, so there was literally a 20 person lineup waiting to get into an empty restaurant (all tables were still messy - the only girl working was also working the cash register and seating people and bussing tables)...she was swamped, so the nobody was getting seated....when we finally did get a table, we had to set up our own cutlary....no coffee available (you would need someone to actually make it), and no clean drinking glasses left...this is at 9am on a Tuesday morning....at one point, the cook was out cleaning tables....I felt bad for them, but thought things would improve when the manager arrived. No, he was there to get a coffee, he stood and watched the girl run around for a minute, then left......great management.
Overall, a nice looking hotel from outside, absolutely no service inside.....save your money and book one of the many other great Banff hotels.

Good day and thank you for your observations & comments; these are always very helpful for the Hotels in their continuing quest to improve both Customer Service & Guest Experience; the Hotels always strive to go above and beyond in these areas.

I am sorry to hear that your recent stay was not up to expectations: hopefully in response to some of your points; the check in time for both the Voyager Inn and Spruce Grove Inn is 4pm, unfortunately the Spruce Grove Inn front desk does not become fully operational until this coming (Father's Day) weekend in the mean time it is only open at weekends and all check ins & check outs are handled through the Voyager Inn. The two Hotels are with regard to "operating" One Hotel just in two buildings (like properties with annex areas) the Spruce Grove Inn has just rooms & the Voyager Inn has fewer rooms but does have the amenities (such as restaurant, lounge, pool, hot tub etc.).
We do offer all Guests a Complimentary Contential Breakfast; the voucher for which is valued at $7 and can be used towards (i.e.$7 off) an up grade to the Hot Buffet. Unfortunately it appears that your breakfast experience was not up to standard we strive for (due to staff being off sick).
With regard to the internet service which is free and available though both buildings it can on occasions be slow this is due usually to the combination for - supply issues from the outside service supplier and when a lot of guests are on the internet at the same time: these are challenges that the Hotel is working towards resolving.
