“The site took my breath away.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

I agree with all the posts. What a fabulous view. My husband and I are seniors and the 1-1/2 mile steep climb was very tiring but still worth it for the phenominal sight.

“Not easy, but worth the climb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We did this hike on the first day of our vacation after doing the short hike to the Peyto Lake viewpoint. We are 70 and almost 70 and in pretty good shape, but it's not like we hike every day. We just took it easy and took short rests as we were still adjusting to the altitude (live in the plains of USA). The view of the glacier and seeing how far we had come (you could see the parking lot from the top), was pretty incredible. At the top, take the trail to the left for a great view of the glacier, then backtrack and take the trail to the right which goes way to the top. The cairns there are pretty neat...we sat there out of the wind and ate our lunch. Do wear layers as even that day which was pretty warm down below was chilly at the top and VERY windy. We did this on Labor Day weekend and it was a great way to get away from the crowds at Lake Louise and Banff.

“Stunning Glacier view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

This trail gives you a great view for the effort. Stunning vista of a high waterfall and large glacier await you at the end .Not the best hike but the best short hike we did during our vacation in the majestic Canadian Rockies.

“Short, Scenic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Short hike with a BIG payoff. Beautiful views of a glacier and surrounding mountains. At the top, you can go to the left for the best views of the glacier. Going to the right and up a hill provides beautiful views of surrounding mountains.
