The Parker Ridge trail was one of the highlights of our trip to Banff. The trail starts out with a good bit of a climb, but it does not last long and it was not a problem for occasional hikers. We went from hiking through the trees to stunted trees to above the tree line pretty quickly. The vistas open up at that point and keep getting better and better. Everyone says to keep to the left on the trail so you can get the best glacier views (they are right) but after we enjoyed that part of the trail, we explored off to the right side and were treated to more great views. Totally worth the effort and easily accomplished for those of us who do not regularly hie in mountain settings.

Wasn't sure at first if we should go but was worth it, in the end. Wonderful trail with great views not a hard hike either. I would definitely do it again!!!

Unexpected because it's not one of the most oftne mentioned hikes. Go all the way up to the top because the view is stunning.

The glaciers will be gone before we know it. This is a beautiful hike to see glaciers from many different viewjpoints. We also saw a bald eagle soaring overhead and a rainbow that displayed its myriad colors all the way through our descent.
