“Really interesting visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014 NEW

This tourist centre is really interesting and quite unique. It's just a short walk out of Banff and tells you the history of Banff. The Tour guides are very well trained and really add to the experience. The marshlands walks are quite boring and I wouldn't recommend them.

“Snail pace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014 NEW

You need to take your time going round this visitor attraction to spot the unique snails which have survived here for hundreds of years. Excellent information available and well worth a visit.

“Very informative...well-organized and maintained”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014 NEW

The building at this site had the same builder as the Banff Springs Hotel. It is beautiful to behold and Parks Canada has done a great job at maintaining it.

This was one of the best deals we had during our trip. Since it's run by Parks Canada, admission per adult was only $3.90 and a youth was $1.70...not many places are that cheap when vacationing!

The displays, walkway and video were very interesting, but the guided tour was the most informative. We followed along with another guided tour and got a lot of inside information that we wouldn't have just by walking and reading. This site has a 100 yr history and the pictures and stories show much about Canadian culture and the life of the priviledged.

There is a new cafe on site for light meals and snacks. Parking is more than adequate.

“Interesting historic site”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014 NEW

The underground cave and hot spring was interesting. My teenage granddaughters enjoyed it as well. Its a very quick drive if you're anywhere in the town of Banff. The fee is inexpensive and there's some great views from the top of the facility. The café also makes some good sandwiches.

“Great staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

The Cave and Basin are kind of interesting and if it is raining or you are looking for something quick to do in Banff, it is a good choice. It is a very small cave and unless you are a real history buff you can see it and the surrounding exhibits in less than an hour. The staff was very friendly and informative. The young woman explaining the items in one of the outdoor exhibits did a great job.
