“Great for what I needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Was in town for the Banff Gran Fondo, and this apartment slept 5 guys just fine. Nothing special and a little threadbare, but clean and quiet. The kitchen was decently stocked as well. It worked out to be very economical when split 5 ways!

We had car trouble and had to find accommodation in Banff for one night on short notice. The fellow at the Ptarmigan Inn offered us this one bedroom apartment for $149 a night at Rundle Manor in high season. The apartment was shopworn (older carpets, older kitchen cabinets) but very clean. The bed was comfortable. the kitchen had everything we needed to make our own breakfast. There was good cross ventilation so the hot weather was not an issue. The room cooled off beautifully at night. The hotel is on a quiet street right near the centre on downtown Banff. Good value!

All was clean, the room was large, but all of the furniture and fixtures need to be upgraded. The location was great, close to. Downtown restaurants, grocery store, and pretty quiet. It would be a great deal if it was 30% less.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor room.

The location is great. Right near the main area of downtown Banff, close to Safeways, pubs, restaurants, laundromat and public transport. The apartments leave a lot to be desires as do the cleaning staff. On arrival we pulled back the curtains in the main bedroom to find a used diaper on the floor. The units were supposed to be serviced daily, however apart from making the beds and changing the towels nothing was done. There was not a broom I the unit, and the floors were not cleaned until we complained. The staff at the front desk (attached to an associated hotel) were magnificent, you could tell they were embarrassed about the overall cleanliness of the units. The lounge suites had dirty marks of spilt food.

Linen, kitchen, bathroom was clean . But opening door we could smell dust and mould. It didn't complain as I knew it was a 2 star , but now having stayed in other 2,star at half the price of rundle it is very rude .... Yes a place to rest your head if you don't have asthma !!!!!!

Room Tip: Go elsewhere .....

Randle Manor is due to be totally redeveloped at the end of this year. The premises are tired and in need of refurbishment, but it is not all bad news. The staff work hard to keep the rooms clean, and, by and large, are successful. The best point in support of Rundle Manor is that it is probably the only self cateting facility in downtown Banff

Its cheap, its close to everything and its somewhere to rest your head. My apartment had a fully functioning bathroom and a reasonably sized kitchen (we were able to cook a whole christmas roast in there). Its secure and its safe.
It is loud at night because its where a lot of the younger crowd go. Which is fine if your doing the same sort of stuff :)
It is also very close to a supermarket, which means you dont have to eat out everynight and you get to save some money.
