Take a drive or bike through. Make sure you drive to last lake. Absolutely beautiful picture with mountains in waters reflection.

“Top Location in Banff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We visited the Vermillion Lakes during sunrise, sunset and middays on a kayak tour and it is abslolutely stunning. The drive/walk is worth every minute.
If you are an early riser, go the lakes and enjoy the view over the lakes to the mountain and enjoy the morning light. We would especially recommend the third lake, right at the end of the road is a wonderful spot, where the lake is usually calm even on windier days.
We have seen deers and even a coyote.

Wonderful location!

“Nice lake but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Its a nice walk from the town to the lakes, but nothing real special. (more a boring hike for older people)
After 1 hour you are back in town.. but a nice spot to take some pictures! (no wildlife was around)

“Peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

The Vermilion Lakes are beautiful. This is the place to go if you want somewhere a bit quieter. If I had more time on this vacation, I would've walked there, and sat out on one of the docks reading for hours. There are several little docks which were really nice to go out and walk onto to enjoy the views a bit more, and sit for a while. There are also a few benches along the way. There were a few canoes in the water, and many cyclists along the road, but it had a wonderful, peaceful feeling.

“NIce trails that feel safe.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Excellent trail to the lakes and a simple easy route for those who want an easy after dinner walk on way out or into town. For the more ambitious, you can walk all the way into Banff. A very quiet spot when we were there and there are new toilets at the main street entry. If you are looking for more of a challenge, this is a bit easy, but if you want a nice easy stroll, this is a nice shaded spot to enjoy nature and the beautiful streams that flow from the Vermillion Lakes.
