We arrived in Banff on perhaps the coldest weekend of the year! Friday was -26C and it didn't warm up outside all weekend! Fresh snow every morning and all afternoon that was almost knee deep at times. My boyfriend arranged the entire weekend with the help of Lee (The owner) from the selection of a very romantic room - comfortable, away from the rest of the house and very quiet (the fake fire place was a great attempt at making the room romantic!) to the great restaurants and even a recommendation of where some popular spots are to "pop the question"
Lee and his staff were great. They must have been up early - with the amount it snowed. The walkway to our room and the entrance was always shovelled clean and the breakfast was great! The room was nice and warm, the beds were amazingly comfortable, the fridge in the room kept the champagne and strawberries cool until they were needed.
We were a lovely walk from downtown. Just far enough...great scenery, great exercise...but, not too far either.
Lee made excellent recommendations for restaurants and activites. The hot springs were a huge highlight. We were there with only 4 other people - I suppose the cold weather really scared people away.
Even with the cold temmperatures and the incredible amounts of snow...even though many of the planned events for the weekend were cancelled due to the cold...the engagement was amazing, I was completely surprized, and of course...my fiance and I are hoping to return to Banff on our honeymoon this summer. Hopefully there will be space at the Boutique Inn.
Enjoy - you will certainly love your stay at the Boutique Inn
