“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Stayed three nights in semiprivate room with to queenbeds. Since we where a couple and one of our friends travelling, the semiprivate option made it possible for us to book only one room, instead of two, and therefor cheaper. Nice and clean room, hot tub in the hotel, good location and free parking. The breakfast was simple, and maybe not my kind of breakfast. But, Will stay here again.

“Just OK but......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Stayed here as 3 couples for a skiing holiday. Booked with Inghams and wanted 3 rooms close to each other. At check in rooms were on different floors and couldn't be changed as hotel was full. We had room 102 which was disgraceful, it was dirty, the bath was very badly stained and discoloured and the mastic around the sink was peeling and mouldy. This room is just around the corner from the reception so was very noisy and we didn't get hardly any sleep. In the morning I complained and the girl on reception was extremely helpful and later that day moved us to 306 which was much nicer. The hotel is just ok but the main problem is that it seems to attract a lot of college students who come to party hard so the hotel is VERY noisy especially on a Friday and Saturday night so sleep is constantly disrupted. On 3 separate occasions we had to complain to reception about the noise and to be fair it was very quickly dealt with. The staff in this hotel are great, it's just a pity that some of the guests couldn't follow their example. If you value a good nights sleep, especially at a weekend then I would suggest going elsewhere.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor. Marginally quieter.

“Great if your on a budget..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

Not bad location and decent enough rooms. Breakfast is definitely lacking (just cereal and plain bagels) but otherwise it's not too bad. Watch out for coupons and promotions... i had a coupon that I was unable to redeem which rreally irritated me. Overall not bad for the price.. Good for a budget ski trip!

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Stayed in Banff for skiing mainly. The staff is very friendly, with good customer service, very accommodating. The room was nice, king bed, with a small belcony.
My only complait would be the pillows. They are BIG and bulky. I think I would bring my own next time.
Breakfast was good for the money. Nothing fancy but I wasn't looking for fancy.

Over all good value for the money. Ski bus right out side the hotel. Perfect

“Good value for money?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Hi I stayed at this hotel in January 2013, the price was the cheapest in Banff but only slightly cheaper than other hotels I've stayed at in the town which are much better (go to Banff every year whilst visiting family in the area). So not sure I agree with good value for money hotel, by paying only slightly more you get a much better atmosphere and service only down the road.

We stayed in this hotel and whilst it has parking etc. the smell of cannabis was all over the hotel to the point we could not sleep without smelling it and had to close the toilet door. The hot tub worked and was ok. The feel of the hotel is old fashioned, carpets, doors, furniture have seen better days (it needs a face lift!). The breakfast is poor quality and very very basic.

The rooms were clean but tiny, the tvs were old-fashioned (as you might expect for the cost) and there was too much furniture crammed into a tiny space.

The staff were a mix, we encountered 2, one very nice lady at the reception desk who was horrified to hear of the cannabis (so I do hope this is not a regular occurrence) and another young guy who barely greeted us when we arrived.

I generally do not have super high standards however in this instance would say this hotel needs a makeover asap, and for the sake of $5-10-20 per night you could really be getting much more value.

Hi i am sorry to read you did not enjoy your stay!
I'm most especially sorry that you smelt cannabis in our hotel, this is a situation where we would evict the parties involved as we have a very strict non smoking policy so i do apologize for that.
I'm glad you found the rooms clean but surprised you found the television old fashioned as we have new flat screen H.D televisions in every room of the hotel.
I'm again sorry you didn't enjoy your stay we try to provide the best service, the cleanest rooms at the best price in Banff so please feel free to give me a call 403 762 4184 and if you can give us a second chance we will guarantee you a great stay at the Red Carpet Inn!
