“Great for a family!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We had a loft room for our family. The room was a bit small, but having three beds was great. The view was beautiful, and the people working the desk were very helpful. The hotel is a short walk into the main part of town. Breakfast was a bit scant (toast, muffins, bagels and cereal).

Stayed here in July 2013 in a Premium room with 2 queen beds (325). The room was very spacious and well appointed. Plenty of room for the three of us to spread out which was nice. Our bed was comfortable and supportive. Bedding was crisp and clean. The bathroom had a nice selection of toiletries and was a reasonable size but by no means large. Our view was only of neighbouring rooms but others in the hotel do have great views of surrounding mountains. Room does not have a fridge, however ice machines are available on the hotel floors so it's really not an issue. On checkin, we scored a bus load turning up at the same time. It was quite chaotic however the young woman behind the counter (apparently alone to deal with it all) was extremely helpful and efficient - a credit to her in the circumstances! Our stay included breakfast each morning - I'm not sure if every room gets it but our booking paperwork made no mention of it anywhere so it was a pleasant surprise. It is a continental affair with bagels, muffins, cereals, toast, fruit, coffee & tea. Certainly enough to set you up for the morning's adventures. I assume most get it because we were given vouchers for each morning that no one apparently wanted to see at any time.
If hanging around the "downtown" shopping central area of Banff is your thing, then this hotel is about a 750 metre (roughly half mile) walk from Elk St where it begins, however I noted a bus stop right outside the hotel (we didn't use it so can't comment on cost or schedule).
I was extremely happy with our 3 night stay at this hotel, I recommend it to you and would certainly stay again should I find myself back in Banff someday.

We stayed one night with our family of four and Mother. We booked the loft room and it was perfect for our needs. The inn was easy to find, close to downtown but not too close and the inside was quiet with the necessary amenities. The room was well stocked with toiletries and towels, which is often a rarity in most hotels. The restaurant was good and convenient after a long day of driving through the mountains. We did not use the hot tub or sauna facilities, but they looked really nice. The underground parking was convenient, but very tight spaces so if you drive a big vehicle, plan on parking elsewhere. We would stay again if we ever make it to the mountains again any time soon. It was a great value for the 5 of us

We were given an upgraded room as we needed two beds, we had a loft room, two double beds downstairs, stairs up to a mezzanine with another double bed. Upper ceiling had a fan which we found useful although there was heating/air conditioning in the room. Reasonable bathroom not super large but quite satisfactory, two lights, one a heat lamp (timed) which was great. Hot water ran a bit cool on our first night probably as we had a late bath, perfectly OK after that. Room faced the road but not noisy. If you hate light at night the top window, a smallish triangular one, has no curtaining, didn't bother us at all. Care is needed not to bang your head on the stairs to the mezzanine, might be an idea for the hotel to fit a bumper underneath. We hung a luggage strap over as a visual reminder. Room had microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Large screen TV, plenty of drawer space, less hanging space but probably sufficient for a short stay. Table & three chairs. Ice machine just round the corner in the corridor. Beds were comfortable and clean although both of us found the duvets a bit heavy. Lift and stairs. Hot tubs, sauna, we didn't try them. Breakfast was included in our stay. Rather odd system for breakfast where tour groups are given specific times and only when all the groups are through can the other guests have theirs, hence dining times can vary. You can come down earlier if you are prepared to take a tray up to your room. Breakfast is OK, self serve juice, coffee, tea, bagels, muffins, bread, jams, Philly cheese, fruit. Room cleaning a vast improvement on our Jasper experience. Staff waited until we were out of our room to clean, vacuum etc even when we came back for a break early afternoon. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the main town area, there are bus stops quite near the hotel. Single fare 2 dollars, day and week tickets are available. Overall a nice hotel if a little far out of downtown.

This was a nice place to stay. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean with a nice selection of toiletries. It was quiet at night even though we were facing the street. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. She went out of her way to assist us with getting around town and with restaurants. We did drive downtown because to get to where most of the stores were you would have to walk too far. We found parking at the far end of town.
My only concern was the breakfast time, which we were told was 8:30. They did make an exception for us because we needed to get up and going by 7:00- 7:30. It seems there was a large group that had priority for the early breakfast time. We were told we could get the food and eat in our room, but when we came down for breakfast we asked if we could sit at the several open tables in the breakfast area (bar) because it was more convenient. Instead, they opened a small dining area next door and we sat there. Although they accommodated us, it made us feel we were intruding somehow and not welcome. We were paying ($$) guests as well. I would think other travelers also like to get up and get going so I think anybody should be welcome to eat when they are ready to go. I am not sure what they would have done if many others preferred to not have to wait until 8:30 to eat.

Bit of a walk to town so great for a summer stay but a bit too far for a winter stay. Underground parking included in the cost. Room and bathroom good size and very clean. Hotel was quiet and in good shape. Staff at front desk were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is basic and you need to make sure you check when the tours are scheduled otherwise it is bedlam and limited seating. They post it the night before though so no big deal. Would definitely stay here again

Found the rooms very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the Hot Tub was great! The Lounge/Restaurant advertises the best Poutine west of Quebec and we certainly weren't disappointed, the Pizza was great as well. The Continental Breakfast was pretty standard, the regular "suspects', toast, bagels, English muffins, cereal, and hard boiled eggs.
