“Pretty Average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2009

The big plus for brewsters is the location, you can't fault it for that. Again I will bang the drum for air conditioning as I fully agree with others. The room was stuffy and you couldn't get any air into it at all, the accomodation was average and nothing special with noise from rooms on either side, we complained on the second night and Eventually someone arrived but again they didn't seem too interested. We have stayed here twice before but can assure you we will be trying somewhere else next time. Some of the staff were friendly, but others including some reception staff were quite rude and seemed as though they didn't want to be there.

Watch out for the additional parking charges as well.........ouch!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay somewhere central in this wonderful town. The hotel was clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The first room we were given was overlooking the inner courtyard and made the room very dark and had a view of a wall!).We asked if we could change our room to one overlooking the street and at no extra cost we were given a room with a balcony overlooking a side street and mountains beyond (well worth asking for!).

We stay in Banff often, and the hotel we pick is driven by the deals on Expedia. This time, Brewster Mountain Lodge was having a sale, so we stayed there. Great location, okay rooms, no parking spot available the second night, really bad continental breakfast, poor service but most importantly NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE HOTEL ROOMS!! So, here we are on two hot summer nights, with the fan going high speed and the windows wide open, sweating like crazy. And worst of all, we heard all the street traffic in the area all through the night. Did we sleep the first night? Definitely not. The second night? Only helped by ear plugs we purchased and being absolutely exhausted. So, deal or no deal, without air conditioning, this hotel is not recommended during the summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This hotel is located on a street right next to downtown Banff. If you want to be close to shopping and dining, this is the place to stay. The hotel has secured parking, and it's great to come back after a day of sightseeing, rest a little and go walk around town without getting in the car again. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and I would recommend staying at one of the suites, they are roomy and have great mountain view with a balcony!

The lodge is right in the middle of the Banff townsite with easy walking distance to shopping, eating and nightlife. The rooms were much larger than we were expecting. The only thing we didn't like was at breakfast, the TV was on national news which disrupts the vacation feeling.

I stayed at this hotel for one night en route to Calgary. The hotel entrance is directly off the street, so you cannot pull up your car to unload your luggage, to do that, you have to go into the hotel, ask for a card to access the car park, then park your car.
The room I stayed in didn't have air conditioning, it had heating, but the only way to get cool air was to open the window to the street, which was extremely noisy.

The room itself was ok, clean etc, no refrigerator but you can get ice. The main problem though was how noisy it was. We could here people in the rooms either side of us, plus with the windows open for fresh air, you could hear people talking on the street. My room was also directly above the reception area, and it is all open plan, so guests could easily be heard talking in the lounge area - not too much of a problem until they start returning late at night! I had to put ear plugs in just to be able to fall asleep.
The breakfast was very basic, but at the end of the day adequate if you are happy with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed here based on the reviews we read here.
Location was right in the middle of town, which allowed us to walk everywhere.
Room was spotless. Great rustic decor.
We hit the free continental breakfast at 9:15am and it was funny
watching three staff running around and not accomplishing much.
We eventually were able to have a bite and would definitely stay here again.
