“Wonderful and affordable hotel right in Banff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We recently spent 2 nights at the Brewster's Mountain Lodge which is located just off of Banff Avenue. We left with absolutely no complaints about the hotel. The rooms were quaintly decorated in a mountain style (plenty of wood, rustic blanket bed cover, welded arrow lampstands). Our room (210) was very clean and surprisingly quiet. We had expected noise from the street but there really isn't much traffic even on a Friday night.

Continental breakfast is included and had a nice variety of pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, coffee, tea, juice. The breakfast room is quite roomy and we found a place to sit even during prime time on Saturday morning. The lobby is also quite nice and has a giant wood-burning fire place. There are several shops attached to the building and you can easily walk to restaurants, shopping, and even down to the Bow River.

We had booked one night through Enjoy Banff and the second through Hotels.com and paid $95 and $78 respectively including taxes. Considering that continental breakfast is included, we were very happy with those rates.

There is also free wifi and underground heated parking is available for $5 per night. It is a wonderful base for wandering around Banff. There is a small library/games area complete with a computer as well.

We really had no complaints. We stayed there with our 3 year-old son who loved it there and even got a colouring book and crayons given to him by the front desk staff. There was also a lovely basket of cookies at the front desk and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room didn't have a mini fridge (which wasn't an issue for us) and there is no pool - just a hot tub and sauna (which we didn't have time to check out).

We will definitely be staying at Brewster's next time we travel through Banff!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and happy that your son enjoyed the colouring book. If you are back this way and we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel we do have a couple of fridges that are based on request and first come / first serve that we can add to the room if available. Please just let the Front Desk / Reservation know at time of reservation to put that request in for you.
Thank you again and all the best...Staff & Management.

My granddaughter was in a competitive dance event at the Banff Centre. The Lodge was the best accommodation close to the event. She had a quiet night's sleep in the comfort of a queen bed. Thanks for the early breakfast.
By the way, she earned a gold at her 8:00 am ballet solo!

Had an excellent time during Spring Break skiing at Sunshine Village and staying at Brewster's. The facilities are clean with a warm, quaint and rustic atmosphere. Moreover, the Lodge is conveniently located downtown.

Room Tip: Reserve Rooms facing the streets or the second story naturual area.

We stayed at brewsters two nights, one in the deluxe queen room and the other in the standard. There were just my mother and I and we had a great stay.

Staff- staff was very nice and the had cookies daily at the front desk

Room- the deluxe room was very spacious with two queen beds and a jacuzzi tub and standup shower which was very nice! Standard room had to beds and was nice just smaller. Not small for standard room though

Hot tub- we did not use the hot tub alrhough there is one

Breakfast- free breakfast was very good. Had pastries, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea and juice

We would defenitly recommend this hotel and it had a great location-- right downtown!

Hello Gino1966, thank you for taking the time to write a review we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to be able to welcome you back to Brewster's Mountain Lodge when you are again in the area. I would like to take a moment to clarify though about the "transportation" comment. Brewster is a very popular name in the Canadian Rockies and we are proud to be owned by one of the founding families (5th generation) of Banff however we are not the "transportation" company. They are no longer related to us since the Brewster Family did sell off this portion of the company many years ago. We do however have a very good relationship with Brewster Inc and are still happy to assist when possible to book some of their excursions and transportation for you. Again, thank you for your kind comments and please look us up on your next trip to Banff. Regards, Management.

We stayed at Brewsters for a night mid April. We decided on this hotel for a couple of reasons-it was a good price for 3 adults and it was right in the middle of Banff. We were meeting our son there and he arrived early so the reception clerk let him go up to the room and settle in before we arrived. Reception was most helpful with checking in and parking. We had rented a large car which did not fit in the Brewsters car park so we needed somewhere to park it. The clerk was able to tell us a safe and secure place. Our room was quite large with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was basic and in need of a fix up. There was no fan and so it did tend to fog up after a shower. The room was very clean, sheets were crisp and pillows comfy. The lodge is a bit of a maze and can be difficult to find your way around once upstairs. Our room faced an interior courtyard and so we did not get any noise which seemed to be a problem for some of the other reviewers. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit salad, yoghurt s, cereals, toast and pastries as well as teas and coffee. I would definitely stay here again as it is right in the centre of town so you have very little walking to get to shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms which are internal.

Stayed at this hotel in Apr 2013. Located right in the heart of downtown Banff. Decor is rustic log cabin, pretty cool. Rooms are average, but staff were friendly and continental breakfast made it worthwhile.
