“Nice Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We stayed in a suite, it was lovely - comfy bed, jacuzzi with a view and all the usuals you would expect. Staff were friendly and happy to give advice (you can get a free travel card at reception which gives you free bus travel). Food and service in the keg restaurant was good.
Only negative was that there was no air con in the room (although this seemed to be the case in most of the hotels in this area).

Located about 1.5km from the centre of Banff, the Caribou Lodge has well presented, clean rooms that do not have air conditioning but a fan is provided to cool the room during warm nights. Staff were pleasant and friendly although check-in was a little slow as only 1 clerk on duty. Our room faced the street but we were not affected by outside noise although movement of other guests from around 6:30 am did disturb our sleep during our stay.

Stayed here on two occasions - both experiences were very good.
Hotel has a rustic/western feel which is nice. Rooms have been renovated with bathroom upgrades and flat screen tv's. Gigantic hot-tub located on the lower level is very nice! The Keg restaurant right in the lobby was also a bonus.

A 10 minute walk from down town Banff. The spa hot pool is complementary to all guests and the always impressive Keg restaurant with morning buffet breakfast in the lobby. Breakfast is NOT included, but the $15 buffet hit breakfast is a great value.

Brilliant hotel. Stayed in December 2012 for a couple of weeks. We were initially put in a double room on the first floor. The room was a good size but unfortunately it was noisy as it was near the stairs to the entrance to the front of the hotel, and right above the garage door for the carpark below. After staying one night I politely asked at reception if we could be moved, and a few hours later they had relocated us to the 3rd floor and gave us a fantastic room, really quiet with great views.

Friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant, pool and steam are pretty decent to. We also got a free bus pass so we could get into town easily and got a discount voucher for the Meatball restaurant down the road, although I wouldn't really recommend the Meatball to be honest. All in all though, excellent stay, comfy beds in a nice quiet room.

Visited this hotel for 3 nights on a touring holiday in Canada, stayed as a couple.
Great experience, the reception area is particularly welcoming and is a pleasant area to have a coffee, tea, coffee are provided in the morning. The room was lovely clean and spacious, good comfortable bed and pillows, this room was also fairly quiet as faced a side street and not the main street, which is very busy, although early morning tour buses did disturb us on one occassion. We did have the window wide open for fresh air. The staff were very pleasant and helpful when I approached reception at a very busy time to ask for a dvd player (which is provided free of charge). The Spa was also lovely and quite quiet. There is free Wi Fi. and parking which I did appreciate. The hotel is a little walk from the main downtown area, it is a good 10min walk but very pleasant and this wouldn't put me off at all but may be worth bearing in mind if you want to be central.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the front of the hotel will be quieter.
