Stayed in Theas House for 3 nights on our Honeymoon as my wife decided that we should stay in a B&B rather than a hotel for part of the holiday. Not a major fan of B&B's as I like the anonimity of the hotels but was not dissappointed by Theas.

The level of quality of the rooms is probably better than most 405 star hotels. The beds are amazing and the cleanliness is second to none. I agree with the comments below with regard to the 'warmth' but it is more like an upmarket boutique hotel than a B&B. Jamie is extremely helpful and the place itself is idillic. It snowed when we were there and it was like a picture postcard.

Only down side is the breakfast is vegetarian so for a 6'4'' 16 stone irishman who needs a fry in the morning I did struggle but apart from that I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Banff.

We stayed for our second time at the Edith Room and once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you appreciate comfort, cleanliness and cosiness this would make a great choice for you staying in Banff. The location is very good, within easy walking distance of the town centre whilst being in a quiet area. Jami told us that she has imminent plans to set up a sitting room for guests, so those of you who may have been put off by previous reviews mentioning the lack of a common area, this will be changing soon. From our point of view, we appreciate the combination of a friendly welcome with being allowed our own privacy. The breakfasts are delicious - there is always fresh fruit and pastries, toast, yogurt, etc. and in addition a hot breakfast. Examples of these include pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs and porridge. All in all, Thea's House is a very special and welcoming place to stay, and you will be well looked after.

Everything about Thea's House was wonderful! The entire property is immaculate and the room was spacious and comfortable. It's extremely convenient as it's within easy walking distance of town. Jami was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Her breakfasts were excellent, and her blueberry turnovers were one of the best things I've had anywhere! Staying at Thea's helped make a memorable trip that much more outstanding.

We recently spent three very special nights at Thea's House. From the lovely garden to the spacious, impeccable rooms, we could not have asked for more. Jamie's breakfasts were delicious and presented beautifully. The table full of fresh, sliced fruits , cheeses, cereals, and pastries (in additon to the main dish of the day) provided more choices than we ever could have expected. There were beverages and homemade cookies available all day right outside our room. We stayed in the large Norquay room with mountain views, high ceilings, beautiful white linens, and spotless bathroom with jacuzzi tub. A comfortable firm bed is very important to us, and we were not disappointed......We slept like babies. We have spent time in Europe enjoying many small inns in the Swiss Alps; Thea's House reminded us of those wonderful places. Thea's House is in a residential neighborhood, yet only two blocks to the main street in Banff, so we had easy access to restaurants and shopping. Free parking is provided onsite which is a bonus also.
If you enjoy great attention to detail and obvious pride of ownership by your hosts, Thea's House is the place for you to stay while in Banff.

We have recently returned from a tour around BC and Alberta taking in ‘Theas House’ at Banff. This was one of amongst many wonderful B&B’s that we had the pleasure of experiencing. Theas is a beautiful home situated very close to the main shops and restaurants. From the moment we arrived, Jami made us very welcome and explained how things worked for which we were grateful. In fact, she only explains what any normal guest would wish to know in any event. Subsequent recommendations as to dining and sightseeing were excellent and particularly suited to our tastes.
We had booked the ‘Norquay’ room looking out over the front garden. There are 4 rooms in total, each different and of the highest standard (Jami let us view the rooms prior to occupation by other guests). We found Theas to be of the highest standard in every respect: the rooms are exceptionally clean and well appointed, the breakfasts were tasty and unique and the guest fridge was stocked with a wide selection of beers and soft drinks (paid for on an honesty basis but okay to keep own drinks etc there). Over the 4 days of our visit, we found Jami to have a relaxed and professional approach to inn-keeping. She is easy to get on with and has a highly developed sense of humour. Both her and Greg have a wonderful house and want to keep it that way for the benefit of their guests who they make feel most welcome. Lula, their whippet, is adorable but knowing that Jami would spot any attempt at smuggling her off the premises, we resisted the temptation to sneak her out with the luggage.
If we visit Banff again, we will not be looking for alternative accommodation, as we seriously doubt there is anywhere better.

W e stayed here in August and were delighted by the wonderful room, great breakfasts and my husband fell in love with the homemade cookies! It was lovely to come back to such a light and airy room after a long day exploring the Rockies. Jami was also very helpful in recommending places to eat in Banff - thanks very much for a great stay!

We stayed at Thea's House several nights. It has some very very good plusses, but it also has some definite minuses.
The rooms are large and airy, very well decorated and more luxurious than the normal cramped hotel room with its king bed and dresser with TV on top. The beautiful wood floors gleamed and the huge headboard fashioned from the stripped-of-bark and polished tree was stunning. The breakfasts were very good, with a wide selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, and breads on the buffet, plus a hot entrée included. The location of Thea's house is excellent--3 blocks from the middle of downtown Banff.
The minuses: Thea's House is just screaming for some warmth. One enters the front door directly into a large foyer with 4 tables which serves as a dining room. There is a bench for sitting when you take off your shoes. (BTW, if you forget something in your room and have to go back upstairs, it is a major pain to remove those shoes and then put them back on again!) There is no warm inviting common area. There really is no place to sit in the afternoon with your glass of wine and cheese and crackers. Unless, of course, you want to sit at a dining table. The ambiance is not inviting. The other option is to sit on your bed and drink your wine there. Just don't spill your merlot on the white coverlet! In the front yard is a delightful small stream and fountain with only one bench for 2 people. Jami would be wise to put a couple tables with umbrellas out on the lawn or on the cobbled entryway. Or perhaps a pull-out table for 8 that could be opened up in the mornings where the bench is, and a small couch and chairs and coffee table in the dining area. Anything to remove the austere feeling. There is a living room that Jami and her husband use as part of their house, and one can "hang out" there in the morning after breakfast, but at any other time it is pretty much off limits. The door to it is closed and I, for one, didn't dare open it.
The rules were not a problem (except for the shoe thing that got tiresome) because one is in a house-like atmosphere, and it might be helpful for some people to know that the toilet handle needs to be jiggled.
