“dissapointed !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

we were slightly dissappointed with this hotel. the location was excellent, 2 minutes walk from the main shopping area, however we felt that it was more like a hostel than a hotel. the room was very small, (booked a queen size room, or so I thought) there were no tea making facilities in the room, however guests had the use of a kitchen to make tea and we could bring food in and store it in the fridge but it appeared you had to provide your own milk for drinks. when we mentioned to the owner that there was no milk he said other guest usually leave some behind to use up. the complimentary cookies in the afternoons did'nt appear. and breakfast was very basic, cereal, bread, cakes and hard boiled eggs. For the price, I would have expected better.

Room Tip: I asked for a queen sized room but it was quite small. to be fair, we didnt see the sizes of the oth...

“Good location, tiny rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Picked this place based on location and price and on the reviews. Yes, the location was good, two blocks from Banff Ave. The rooms are very dated and impossibly tiny. Not enough room for the luggage, a bed on wheels that moves if you are sitting up because there is no headboard. Plus the train whistle woke us up every night even though it wasn't close. If you are more than a little overweight you will not fit into the bathroom or shower. There were fresh croissants and hardboiled eggs for breakfast but we never saw the owner. The coffee was terrible, too weak. As for the price, it was too high for what it was.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

“tiny, noisy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was so tiny, that not even our luggage would fit. The bathroom/shower was so small that it was hard to turn around. I only know this kind of lodging from NYC! On top of this, there were drunk and rowdy kids passing by our room all night and it only was a Monday night. In addition, it felt like Canada Pacific Railway was running all its containers by our room all night. This just didn't match the $85 we paid for this experience.

Room Tip: I would avoid this place.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the location excellent. We could visit all the attractions in Banff etc. easily and were also close to many other places. It was only a short walk from the B & B to shops, banks, restaurants and so on. The B & B itself was rather dated and the rooms a little small (although to be fair this was stated on their website). THe owner was there and was very helpful with plenty of advice for anyone who needed it about what to do and where to go. Rather expensive for the degree of comfort provided.

“quaint and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We booked 14 nights for first 2 weeks of August using the supersaver back in January which gave us a really good deal. We stayed in room 1 which had a very comfortable bed, although it tended to move a bit! The shower had good pressure, plenty of hot water and the breakfasts we found to be very good. We didn't see the famous Pascal that much but when we did, he was very knowledgable and friendly.
Best to get to the car park early, no spaces after 4pm; plenty of roadside parking if not. Room 9 situated by the smoking table, not ideal. Guest kitchen fabulous, lots of tourist info available, great method of keeping room/door key safe. Mountain view from our window, useful mosquito netting over opening window. The mosquitoes are beasts out there. Very convenient location, just 2 min walk to the main street of Banff which is a shoppers paradise. Only downside was the noise - noisy neighbours/revellers on street through the night kept us awake.
Its a good, clean, basic B & B and great value. We would stay again.

Room Tip: Room 9 near smokers table. Room 1 reasonable size.
