I'm sad that I'm writing a bad review about this place. I had reasonably high expectations considering the other museums in Banff. I find First Nations history very interesting, but this was such a disappointment. I mean I really don't understand how so many people thought this was interesting. I was falling asleep. This place needs a major reno- all the taxidermy looks ancient and dusty, and the presentation of the clothing and artifacts was boring as all get out. I like the idea of how they have the layout, because you start at one end and end at another. It's almost begging to be set up like a story! I'm no expert but I feel like if they set up the history of the culture in a chronological exhibit with the animals spread throughout it would attract a lot more people and get them educated! Also, those mannequins need a serious update. Some of those were seriously creepy. I really hope that some change can come to the museum- it has so much potential for being awesome. And then maybe their 10 fee would be a bit more justified (and maybe then they could charge a little more?).
