“Beautiful, small museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

This museum has a gallery which tells the history of the region through interesting displays. Art galleries displayed local art, both historical and contemporary. Do not miss touring the heritage homes which were moved to the museum grounds. These hold interesting collections and tell the story of early settlers and developers of the region.

“very nice tiny museum depicting briefly life of those who originally dared the mountains”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

The entrance was a voluntary donation suggested for 5 dollars. in a very nice well distributed, small location, ideal for exhibits, by the way had two of them from two Canadian artist going on just on the left wing to the main exhibit room: Toni Bloom with his land buoy exhibit and Oscar Cahen with his cartoons. I found both very unique and very interesting. Because its a petite size museum you can take time and enjoy reading without been afraid not seeing it all, although you might feel always tempted to rush yourself and go outdoors but we were there during a rainy morning so it was just perfect. The permanent exhibit is a nice depicted passage of the origin and interactions between the native settlers and explores of the city of Banff. We enjoyed our stayed and finishing it at the gift shop which has art from local artist and artisans which could make the visit even more meaningful if you buy one of those little pieces of art this magnificent national park has inspired.

“Very informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

A great place to take visitors to learn about the history of our town. Small museum but good nontheless. I had a free family pass that I borrowed from the library (found out about this in the Crag & Canyon) and that was very useful.
