“Cruise is least of the 3 for 1 ticket, but still enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

So if you do the Banff Gondola and want to also do the ice fields, then you may as well do the 3 for 1 ticket and go on this cruise. I'd probably not do it if it were by itself, but it was a nice bonus by doing the other 2 attractions. The boat was nice enough and didn't rock. I get major sea sick and didn't even feel a tiny bit sick on this smooth lake. The guide was fun and full of interesting facts. The tour was pretty short, but it gave you a good look around the lake - stuff you can only see from the boat. The boat held about 30 people or so and wasn't crowded at all. I think we got there a week or two before tourist season really hit strong. We also took a hike around part of the lake trails and were very pleased at the beauty and quiet of the area. It was also VERY clean! Good trip.

“Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

Set out as early as you can. We left the hotel before 7am and the lake was all but empty of visitors. We had breakfast sitting looking out over the beautiful lake and the ground squirrels stole my granola bar!
Bring insect repellent and bear spray if you are staying long.....I've had the worst Mossie bites for over a week now.

Brilliant .what could be better than to catch a 10lb trout in less than 15 minutes. Enjoyed fishing off the rocks in the sunshine

“Well worth the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

The views from this lake are for the most part not overly spectacular and it was not the highlight of our four days spent in the area. But, it was well worth the time. One view in particular was worth the trip. That was a view to the east through a very low pass. You will find it in my photos. I liked this view more than the modestly impressive mountains on either side of the lake.

Note: There is no toilet on the boat and there are no public toilets near the dock where you board. There are two in the park area that you may want to visit before heading for the dock.

We bought our boat ride tickets at the Banff Sulphur Mountain Gondola ticket office along with the gondola tickets and saved about $10 each.

worth a trip as only a short drive from Banff. First seen from the top of Sulphur Mountain following a trip on the Banff Gondola
