My wife and I stay at a Fairmont every special occasion. This time it was for our 10 year anniversary. :) We were lucky enough to book a room during the busiest time of the summer, let alone the Gold Floor. Here are a few things to consider when booking a room on the Gold Floor:
The room and bathroom are smaller, but the bathroom was updated and the smaller room was hardly noticeable.
The walls are thick-I couldn't hear a peep from our neighbors. But I wish the soundproofing from the hallway was better.
I never had to wait more than a few minutes to speak to someone at the front desk.
There's someone in the Gold Floor lounge to assist you all day.
There probably aren't too many people staying at the Fairmont who are on a budget, but one easy tip to save $10/day is to self park. The garage is just a 3-4 minute walk from the hotel entrance. Self-parking was usually faster than valet parking!!
Take the hotel tour, explore the outdoors, and relax-it's taken care of!!
