“Best Christmas ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Me and my family stayed here over christmas, and let me just say that it was amazing. I have been reading alot of reviews about the staff service being poor, and I just gotta say those people must be awfully picking, during our stay we actually encountered quite a few problems, but the staff here was so accomadating and so eager to fix our problems, it didnt even matter. We have never been treated so well at a hotel before. My only complaint would be how expensive the food and drinks are, you do need to remind yourself that they are world class chefs from around the world, and everythig I ate here was AMAZING, but after paying so much for a room already, its a little sad when you pat $16 for a cocktail and $20 for a burger. When we stayed we had the breakfast buffet, as well as three dinner buffets in the Bow Valley Grill, and I dont think Ive ever had a better meal. That being said, it was a little disheartening paying $4 for my iced tea. And dont even get me atarted on the spa, it was so wonderful that we actually extended our stay just so we could spend another day there. The waterfall pools are so refreshing and relaxing, and the views from the relaxing are spectacular. I even started making my own cucumber and mint water after I got home. I absolutly loved my stay at the Banff Springs, and even though I only live little over an hour away, we WILL be back. I cant stress enough how wonderful the staff was, we were there over christmas, their busiest time of year, so it was understandable that there were a few hiccups here abd there, but everyone was so accomadiing it didnt even matter. Our stay there was magical

“New Years Eve Extravaganza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

For our Wedding Anniversary and New Years Eve we stayed once again at the Fairmont Banff Springs. We took our dogs and stayed on the Gold floor. On arrival the Car Valets were superb, they knew from our name we were on the Gold Floor and personally helped us to the 5th level to check in. The room was a little small from what we are used to especially given that we had dogs the bathroom was tiny and no tub. Having said that it was a comfortable bed and the Gold Service made up for it. Nothing was too much trouble for them, the lounge was excellent and cozy with a vast array of small nibbles at 5pm and a very good breakfast 7-10am all included in the price. An honour bar with a great selection of liquors, wines and beers. Free soft drinks. I spent a day in the spa which was heaven and a Caviar Facial to die for! The New Years Eve Gala was exceptionally good, great band and so much food of a very high quality well worth the $299 per head.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Gold Floor is worth it. Join the Fairmont Presidents Club for 10% of services. You need t...

“Wonderful service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

My sisters and I stayed at the Banff Springs hotel over the new year. We got one suite with two queen beds in the Stanley Thompson wing.
When we arrived we did have to wait two hours for our room because it was so very busy. But they gave us hotel credit which we used towards dinning.
The room was beautiful and so historic! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent and friendly.
My only complaint was that the valet parking service seemed over run and non responsive. It was very, very busy but I should not have to wait 30 minutes to get my car.
Overall though, it was a delightful getaway and I am already making plans to go back!

“exquisite hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We had two nights here. The girl on reception who checked us in was very casual and it was greatly offputting. We found out it was her first day but she appeared as if she couldn't care less about us. We were shown to a room with an adjoining door but could hear the people next door so asked for a change of room which we were given but had to wait until 4 pm. This is like a little city, with a myriad of restaurants, shops etc. We went into the town that night for dinner. Next morningwe had breakfast in the deli, oats and scrambled eggs and sausages. Better value that the restaurant. We then went to the gym with magnificent views over the snow covered mountains and then off to the spa (wonderful). Steam rooms, eucalyptus room, sauna, outdoor hot spa (not to be missed), mineral pool. The resting room had fresh fruit, cookies, coffee and waters. You can come and go as you please all day. Discount for a Fairmont President Club's member of only $49 per room. If you are going to Banff, this beautiful castle is exquisite and a must

Room Tip: Room without adjoining doors, Fairmont President Club gives you fee wi-fi, parking and discounts in...

“Great but too pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel. Staff great amenities great location great. We stayed on the gold level. Tis allowed us use of the lounge. The snacks were nice, modest. The breakfast was pleasant light. However at night you had to pay for your wine beer etc. now we paid $800 per night for our rooms we had 3 so this was not cheap. However having to pay for a wine to the tune of $11 per glass is a bit rich.
The rooms were nice but let me tell you about the tiny bathrooms. I am 6'2" and 210 lbs with size 12feet couldn't close the door very easily. You had to close the door in order to get in front of the sink. No counter space 1 sink and a shower. Extremely efficient design read small.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. They were mainly Australians and New Zealanders.
Took the bus to ski sunshine, a 4 mile backup to the hill got there there was 1000s of people stayed on the bus and skipped it. Do not go over the Xmas holidays if you can swing it. Way too many people.
Went curling locally a blast, then Canadian bowling also a must do. The town has many shops and restaurants bars pubs everything. Lots of fun wonderful people these Canadians WONDERFUL polite great
Being there are not too many other places to chose from don't have good suggestions. Do not pay extra for the gold level for it is not worth it by a long shot.

Room Tip: Stay away from the gold too pricey
