“A good choice of hotel in Banff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were checked in very quickly. We were able to park our car in the hotel's underground carpark, which cost $12.00 per night.

We chose a Delta Premier room, which had a king size bed and fireplace. There was very liitle difference in price between the Premier room with a king and standard room with a queen size bed. Our room was lovely: very nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed with good quality linens and a very spacious bathroom. The room was very quiet eventhough we were close to the drinks and ice machine in the corridor.

For convenience we decided to have breakfast in the hotel and it was not as expensive as we had expected, although by no means cheap. The hotel is well located on Banff Avenue, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town.

We stayed here for the weekend, was à good stay. We booked two rooms, but unfortunately no connecting doors. Our corner suite was great though. We dined one evening in the hotel, which was good value for money, but nothing special. The swimming pool appeared to be the cold pool for the sauna and was too cold to use, the hot tub was great though.

This place was beautiful. We stayed one night. The room was HUGE. The price was very reasonable. The Mountain View was to die for, gorgeous. We ate breakfast in the hotel and it was great. Yummy food and lot's to offer. Great spot for kids.

We arrived late and we were offered a very reasonable upgrade at the desk, which I took. We were served by very personable staff that made us feel very welcome. The room was lovely and very well maintained. Can't fault it for service or accommodation.

Took a pre-Christmas trip to Banff with some extended family. We have always had very good experiences with Delta hotels and this one did not disappoint. The rooms are great. Spacious and very clean. The entire staff was amazing, from the concierge on arrival, right to the cleaning staff. They even cleaned our windshield while our vehicle was parked at night. The staff at the Delta Banff Royal Canadian has set a new standard for hotels and I thank you all.

Delta did not disappoint in the quality of its rooms and service. Rooms were upgraded (traditional in furnishings) and clean. Nice pool and great large hot-tub. Hot-tub is separated from the pool area by half-wall which helps to feel more cozy and secluded. Robes and pool towels were provided. Pool was a good feature as there aren't many hotels with nice pools in Banff. We were able to upgrade to a nicer room with a fireplace.- room itself was a bit bigger with a larger bathroom. Bed was very comfortable with nice sheets.

Negatives- although on the main strip, it is a bit far from the main shopping/restaurant area. Underground parking is quite tight and one night (during the weekend) there were more cars than parking spaces.

We stayed in other hotels on the strip and found that the quality of the hotel was not much less than Delta's but price was much better. Don't think we would stay there again given than we hardly spent any time in the hotel.

The girlfriend and I decided to escape the city and have a romantic night here. We got out of town late, but when we arrived our check in was oh so smooth! We were in our room within minutes of checking in, after parking our car in the underground parking. (Got super lucky with a spot on the first level ridiculously close to the door!!) The bed was super comfy, the fireplace kept us toasty on the cool-ish night, and the bathroom was spacious! I popped out for a walk later in the evening, but stopped for a pint in the lounge just before it closed. Great service, although there was an extremely loud woman sitting behind me. Not the hotels fault, but people will be able to here conversation of a normal volume.
We didn't get a chance to try out the pool and spa area, as we had....other things in mind. They looked like fantastic facilities though! Can't wait to go back and try them out!
