“Great Banff Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Very nice hotel in the middle of Banff. Nice, good sized rooms, great views and heated parking (with a free car wash if you have nothing better to do; LOL). The hotel is not a new 'glamour' hotel; but it is very affordable, clean, quiet, great location and close to everything you need. Also, it is across the street from Mellissa's Mistake (see other review) which is a wonderful restaurant for all meals.

Our room was on the ground floor with 2 double beds, view of a patio and of course mountains, there's rarely a place you won't have a mountain view. I will get the downsides out of the way in that the parking and wifi are extras, usually they're included however, quality of both is high so no biggie. Located near the river, park and bridge it is ideally located so you can leave transport behind and stay on your feet in the beautiful Mounties. The team at the hotel were always friendly and efficient, reception were always helpful and our room was spotless. We went out for coffees (5 mins walk to Tims) and returned 40 mins later to a fully cleaned room! Awesome.

Pool and hot tubs are wonderful, almost a spa like setting. Tiny gym with spin bike, exercise bike, elliptical, tread mill and free weights. This was rather hot and very small so I would have to say this could be improved upon. But I got my workout and my family loved the pool so can't complain there either.

The bar is so inviting. Lovely fire and such great people working there - friendly, interested and interesting. The chairs are so comfy! Great place to end or even start your night.

This may be my new favourite hotel in Banff.

We had a great room, on the third floor, with a massive jacuzzi bath in the bedroom and a separate, fantastic, double shower with multiple jets! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and there was a very handy fridge in the room. The decor is a little old fashioned, but still pleasant. Our room was a little hot and stuffy, for us personally, and the heating was on the low setting, so a fan would have been nice as it was requested that the windows not be opened in case it froze inside. Our friends stayed in a ground floor room for people with disabilities and this was very nice also, except their rooms patio doors went directly out onto the front of the building, accessible to the passing public! The car park (extra cost) has a lift directly into the building. The main areas are lovely and smart. The bar and restaurant on the main floor looked appealing, although I did not get an opportunity to use them and the restaurant upstairs, where we had breakfast, was pleasant with nice food, except for the sausages! I would suggest you don't book a breakfast package, as we did, but try the hotels breakfast and also go to outside cafes to compare. ALL the staff were amazing, helpful and polite.

The hotel is very convenient for everything. Its a very short walk into town, where there are lots of shops and many restaurants with a wide variety on the menus. Its easy to go for a stroll along the footpaths, by the river, where we were fortunate enough to see elks, close up with massive antlers. It is near to Banff Hot Springs and the Norquay ski area (we had a great time tubing), but you need some kind of transport to get to these places. Transport is available in the form of taxis, buses and coaches, all nearby.

We travelled from the airport to the hotel on the Banff Airporter, the man driving us was fantastic and knowledgeable, however we left on the Brewster coach which was more comfortable. If you are arriving at the airport in the evening, as we were, check to make sure there are more coaches available after the one you have booked, we missed our coach due to a problem in the luggage area, as all coaches leave punctually.

Room Tip: the lower floors patio doors open out onto areas where the public can gain access easily so I would...

Booked a few rooms for a bachelor party and ended up with an 80's themed party. Solid location downtown Banff but the hotel was extremely old and dated. Price was fair for location, just a short hop to the pubs and shopping. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a spot downtown that won't break the bank.

We stayed at the Banff Park Lodge in mid January and had a great time. The employees were efficient, cheerful and interested in suggesting activities to explore. The young lady at the front desk was particularly helpful! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had had an excellent sleep. The morning buffet in the Chinook restaurant was excellent. There was a wide variety of fresh fruit and choices of items to enjoy. We particularly enjoyed the pool facilities. As it was a week night we were able to enjoy the hot tub and pool without a crowd. The lobby has been renovated recently and is very modern in appearance. The hotel is centrally located and is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel from Boxing Day until first week in jan 2015. Nice reception area with log fire. We booked a superior room with king size bed. Room was clean, warm and well appointed. Fridge in room which was useful.
Pool area was very good with large hot tub and steam room was also very good after a day in the cold. Exercise area very small with only a treadmill, two bikes and an elliptical trainer. Pool did get extremely busy late afternoon but I suppose that's to be expected as everyone comes down off the slopes.
Lounge bar is very good and probably one of the best in hotels in banff. The bar staff were very attentive and the food was also very good.
We only ate in the restaurants twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both times food was very good. Breakfast buffet was very good if you feel you can eat enough to justify $20 dollars. But if your appetite is a little lighter then Mellisas across the road is good also.
Location was fantastic as its a very short walk to bannf ave and the restaurants / shops, but you don't get any busy traffic noise.
All the staff were fantastic and the concierge is very helpful and knowledgeable.
The only thing I was disappointed by was that they charge $10 dollars a day for wifi so I didn't use it.

A wonderful hotel. All of the employees have a sunny attitude and great smile. They couldn't be more helpful and when problems occur they resolve them superbly. An empowered team who are obviously very well led. Rooms comfortable, spacious and clean. Great bar area with warm atmosphere and good choice of snacks. Only downside is that the restaurants look expensive so haven't tried them. But the centre of town us so close, eating out is an easy option. Couldn't be happier overall and I know my family would love it too.
