We have been staying here for several years now, its nice to see that they have been slowly fixing up the amenities over the last little while. While never a luxury hotel, it is very comfortable, clean and a convenient home base for walking around town. We had never visited the Terrace Dining Room before but it was quite a pleasant surprise. Its certainly pricey, but not out of line for what you would pay for a top notch meal in town. The pool is a welcome retreat especially if you have kids.

I only stayed here for 1 night for a work function. I can say that The staff here are really nice and welcoming, the front foyer is lovely and inviting. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean. However they are in desperate need for updating. One big down fall for me is that I am over 6' tall and the shower head only came up to my shoulders. Which made it very difficult to take a shower. I really shouldn't be forced to sit in the shower to wash my hair. So because of this, they lost 2 points from me. There is also ample parking under the building which is nice. I may return to this hotel, but only if they renovate the rooms and bring them into this century and most importantly raise the height of the shower heads.

The rooms were very clean and spacious enough for family vacations. The whole family loved the pool/hot tubs/sauna. Staff was friendly. Easy walking to all the shops, restaurants, and museums. Only wish that internet was free (they currently charge $10/day).

second time we've held meetings here at BPL. Excellent manager , communications, room and lunches. Some guest rooms were newly renovated but not all. Breakfast buffet was ample and had a good selection. Friendly staff and good service. Excellent off season room rates. Great location close to the main street for dining. Quiet. Some staff made use of fitness room, pool, hot tub and steam room.

Room Tip: Stay in newly renovated rooms

We would like to thank the BPL for their great hospitality and service. They have a lovely
buffet and the layout is great. It is close to the river and close and convenient to downtown
Banff. The amenities are well suited for the hotel too.Goro Canyon has 3 lovely ladies working there who are very gracious too.

We stayed in what I think was termed a double queen room which for some strange reason included two queen size beds. Not sure what sort of arrangement this was designed for (friendly couples perhaps?) but as could be expected, the room was very spacious and included a small table and two lounge chairs as well. Another odd inclusion was a second hand basin and mirror in an alcove that lead to the bathroom with the first basin and a shower over bath arrangement. Our ground floor room opened onto the street which, although not busy (pedestrians or cars) justified keeping the shear curtains closed for privacy. Unfortunately, like many similar hotels, the only down side was the limited lighting in the room - bedside lamps and a single overhead light.
Unlike previous accommodation, we were able to adjust the heating in our room from the typical Canadian slow roast down to a reasonable temperature for sleeping.
This hotel (and conference centre) was very conveniently located close to the centre of town but far enough away from the main street. The main road into town is lined with similar accommodation but requires a long walk to get there.
The hotel offers 2 restaurants - one by the bar for fine dining downstairs and a more informal family type restaurant upstairs. We had one main meal and two breakfasts (not included in the room rate) at the latter and for both breakfast and dinner, the service and food was excellent. The buffet breakfast was at a very reasonable price and the variety of fare on offer extensive.
With a gym (small), steam room, pool, arcade of shops, lovely open fire in the lobby and very friendly and helpful staff ( including the sprinkling of Aussies we've come to expect in our recent travels in the Canadian Rockies!), this hotel has got everything and at very reasonable prices.
I highly recommend the Banff Park Lodge.

Room Tip: Ground floor facing the street is just fine
