“Set your expectations to nothing but average.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

We stayed in one of the loft cabins. The loft and dining/fireplace area were spacious, but the bedroom with queen bed was cramped. The furnace is also adjacent to the bedroom and was very noisy, running all night which was disrupting to our sleep. The beds are also very firm/hard making sleeping uncomfortable. I also agree with others that firewood should be provided.

The main pool is located adjacent to the office and is decent in size, but the whirlpool is very small with a 3 person capacity. Below one of the buildings is a whirlpool/sauna/steamroom which is larger and decent, but is located in the basement with awkward, dirty changerooms to go through. Every time we used either pool we had to call the front desk for towels - which they did deliver within 1/2 hour.

We went there based on website pictures and higher expectations which might be part of the problem. The furnace/cramped bedroom and hard mattresses are enough for us to try other locations in the future.

Room Tip: Make sure room is newly renovated with new beds

Recently my girl friend and I stayed in one of the Suites it was very nice and the price was right through booking.com, every morning the deer and elk would be outside our patio what a great way to enjoy morning coffee. The room was very clean and the staff were really nice and quick room service. The only thing I can complain about is the bed! The floor would of been softer. So here you go enjoy your stay as well as the great sauna, steam room, hot tub and pool and hopefully the resort updates their beds.
I will probably try the chalets next time!

The rooms were ok, and big. we had 4 adults in a 2 bedroom. not bad for 2 nights. But the beds were so we almost left and ended our trip early. I have never complained about beds before but we seriously were so close to leaving.

This hotel was relatively good, but didn't stand out as being exceptional, either positively or negatively. It would be better visited in the summer, I think, to take advantage of the balcony. The pool was fairly small and was in use by several other guests at the time so we didn't take advantage of that. We noted that the hotel accross the street had a waterslide, so if you're travelling with kids that might be more appealling. The room was clean and the bed was decent enough. We enjoyed the natural wood fireplace, although you do have the purchase the wood for $7 a bundle. While that isn't a huge expense, some establishments, such as Storm Mountain Lodge, provide wood free of charge. We would have rated this hotel higher but we felt that for the same price, there are other hotels in the area that represent a better value. The Rundlestone, for example, remains our favorite in the banff area.

Room Tip: The 'suites' are still attached units, but offer a balcony that overlooks the wooded area be...

We had stayed here a few years ago and when we got a discount to stay again we were veery happy. The room we had had been upgraded to include a king size bed, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, steam shower and other fine appointments. The room was quiet and comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate in returning.

We stayed here over Christmas in a one bed loft suite, the hotel staff were really helpful during our stay. The accommodation was ideal for our family of myself and my husband with our teenage son and daughter, although its not very modern or posh the space was ideal and the cooking facilities although a bit more limited than some similar apartments were adequate for our needs. It was great value and a lovely holiday.

Room Tip: Mountain view is great

Stayed here Dec. 28-30,2012 in an executive room. The check-in was quick and the several staff we dealt with were very nice. Our room was quite large - 2 sinks, steam shower, jacuzzi tub, mini fridge, microwave, kettle, king size bed, couch and gas fireplace. The resort was really quiet, which we liked since we were there for rest and relaxation. The only con that I had was the room was beyond freezing when we first walked in - maybe 10C and you turn the heat on through the air conditioning unit. The fireplace also wasn't hooked up properly to the thermostat but my husband being handy figured how to make everything work. The swimming pool was small, but looked decent. There were also 2 hottubs in a different building. After I checked out I noticed a book shelf of DVDs and board games that I assume we could have utilized while there but never knew about them. I love being on Tunnel mountain, but this resort is about a 4 minute drive to Banff Ave, so a car is ideal. We noticed a few people walking, but in the winter the walk would be too far and cold for me (summer would be fine). Overall for the price we paid and the amenities this resort has it was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.
