Upon arriving we were just thrilled with our room at the Aspen Lodge! After staying in hotels for 9 days previous to our stay at the aspen lodge, the space in our room and the layout for a family was really a welcome surprise. Two bedrooms, each with a TV and a balcony overlooking the street and the two outdoor hot tubs, it was really like a mini paradise for this traveling family with two teens and a 9 year old.
The shampoo and conditioner were very nice products also as compared to a couple very high end and expensive hotels in the area we had just stayed at.
I can't stop before I mention that the breakfast was also wonderful. The service was friendly and homemade granola was delicious.
I would absolutely stay at the aspen lodge again and recommend it to anyone!

We are currently staying at this hotel in Banff and I am impressed overall for the price. The rooms are very clean and the bed is nice and comfy. The hot tubs are great. There is a fire place right beside one of the hot tubs and the atmosphere is great. On the down side, they should just get rid of breakfast all together. The breakfast was included with our stay but it is a complete dissapointment. The fruit is old and mushy and nothing was enjoyable. Just go out to eat when you stay here because even though breakfast is free, its not worth your time.

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel based on price, location and positive ratings from other users. Here is a summary of our own experience:

POSITIVES
-Good location
-Nice hot tub area
-Front desk was friendly enough

NEGATIVES
-Only 6' clearance in the parkade, not sufficient for our standard-size pickup truck.
-Walked into a room basically the size of my closet (was told it was one of a few small rooms in the hotel).
-Could basically see my breath when initially entering the room as apparently no one thought to put the heater on when it is -25 degrees outside (room had direct outdoor access)
-Bathroom floor was freezing cold the entire stay, had to wear winter boots to go into the bathroom. No counter tops to put any grooming products on.
-Fridge made loud buzzing noise the entire time (not easily ignored at night).
-Needed a wine opener, was told that the front desk could not lend us one ("have had too many stolen in the past")- had to go out of our way to bring the bottle to the front desk so they could open it.
-Returned to our bed made horribly after a day out on the town.
-Saved the best for last: while searching for a notepad in the bedside drawers found a open box of latex supplies (use your imagination) which made us question the cleanliness of the entire place. Could barely crawl into the bedsheets that night.

Needless to say, after other positive experiences at other Banff hotels, we will not be making a return trip to the Banff Aspen Lodge. Paid $270.00 for a two-night stay - words of advice: spend your money elsewhere.

Took a short snowboarding break at Sunhine and stayed in this hotel. For 100 bucks a night and good reviews on trip adviser we decided to take up this hotel. WOW!
Outdoor Jacuzzi, breakfast and in the town centre - what more could you want?

Staff were very helpful and checked us in even giving us a map and marking good restaurants. We did have to walk outside to our rooms but the cold was soon forgotton as we entered our rooms as there was under floor heating. Breakfast was homemade and was enough to satisfy before a day of snowboarding and the outdoor jacuzzi was perfect for soothing our aching muscles.
