“The perfect balcony for watching Canada Day parades!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Stayed in the Banff Aspen Lodge for a week June/July so were in town for the Canada Day celebrations. If you're after a street front room with a balcony to watch the street then go for room 240! Excellent facilities including hot tub and jacuzzi. Courteous and efficient staff made this a great base for exploring Banff and surrounds.

Room Tip: If you want a street front balcony view ask for room 242!

The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to down town and bow river. We upgraded to a premium room and it was worth it. I'm not sure what a regular room would be like. But we had our own balcony (2nd floor) and faced down town, south I believe. The mountain view was not especially great.

We booked online through www.banffaspenlodge.ca we booked a 2day special. Which came w banff gondola tickets and 2 hot springs passes. The hotel had no record of the package deal, ( still not sure since it is there own website) The day we arrived the staff couldn't do anything for us.

The next day the front office manager, Shawn Macmillan, sorted the whole thing out. He demonstrated great customer service skills and common sense sorting out the problem.

All things said it was a great experience at the banff aspen lodge, I would recommend it, but I would likely try elsewhere on a return trip, only to try something new.

Oh and the hot tub, saunas and contential breakfast were all great!!

We stayed in Banff for 3 nights at the start of our Rockies driving holiday from Calgary to Vancouver. The room was clean and suited us perfectly. The room balcony faced the carpark which was a little noisy so you couldn't leave the door open for airflow at night. The room had heating but no airconditioning and only a small fan, so was a little stuffy with the warmer summer weather. All in all though was a good location, easy walking distance to Safeway and the centre of town. The continental breakfast was nice and the staff were lovely.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the carpark can be noisy at night

We stayed at the Banff Aspen Lodge for two nights and enjoyed our stay. Our room had beds separated by the bathroom which was OK for us but would probably work better for families. It faced the main road, which was not good for use of the balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was excellent: an easy walk to downtown. We really liked the hot tubs which were very relaxing after a day of semi-serious hiking and biking. The free covered parking was very convenient.

The other guests came from a wide range of countries, which was nice in our brief minutes of interaction. The breakfast was disappointing, considering the high quality of everything else. An overall enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: get a room in the back of the hotel, we were in the front.

We took an unplanned trip to Banff on Canada Day and didn't know if we would be able to find an affordable room for the night.

The Banff Aspen Lodge provided us with their last vacancy which suited our needs perfectly.

Our room was very small however, we weren't spending much time there anyway. There was a small fridge in the room which was a great amenity.

The Lodge has two hot tubs - one has a fireplace along the side.

We enjoyed our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge!

One of the best things about The Banff Aspen Lodge was the staff. Everyone we met during our 4 night stay was impressive. The reception staff were professional, extremely efficient and very friendly as well. All our enquiries and requests were dealt with immediately. The maitenance staff, the kitchen staff, everyone was great. Our room was spacious, comfortable and everywhere was very well maintained and very clean. Breakfast was great. A short walk to the center of town it was a great place to stay.
