“A great improvement over our last stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We have been staying at this hotel off and on since it opened. 2 years ago we were not pleased but decided to give it another chance this past New Year's Eve.
We booked 3 rooms and were all very pleased. They were the "basic" rooms with every requirement. We received an early check in and were treated with a friendly and professional manor.
We will definitely return, so much better than the Banff Springs where we stay a lot.

Room Tip: Avoid being in the front as it could be noisy.

Love this property. We have been visitng at New Year for a number of years and have never been dissapointed. Skating rink in the back of the property, nice spa and health club. Excellent rooms. This is the nicest hotel in Banff. Banff Springs is more regal, this place is higher end.

Never having stayed at this hotel before, we were expecting it to be something special. We stayed 2 nights for almost $800.00, only to find that the hotel is just average...nothing included, even had to pay daily parking, all of their restaurant meals are also high priced. The location might be great , if you plan to spend most of your time in the HotSpring pool, otherwise, it was quite inconvenient...bus into town was free, using your room key, but still not ideal for a luxury vacation.

Room Tip: We had nasked for a mountain view room, so the view was nice, but the room was very cool, and took h...

This is our 3rd visit to this lovely hotel. We were staying elsewhere and booked a last minute vist. We had a suite, which was huge with views of the gondola on Sulphur mountain. Very comfortable stay. room facilities, as always of an excellent and superb high standard.
We requested an early arrival check-in for 3pm, but arrived 1/2 hr early, but room was ready and waiting. Had a very nice lunch in the Larkspur restaurant, finished our lunch sipping hot coffees overlooking the magnificent snow covered scenery.
As always, we found all staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly.
Love to stay here in this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Ask reception for best rooms with good views, they were very helpful. Have already booked for this s...

Front Desk service SUCKS. They are rude. One of the front desk clerks read from the computer. Not to give me free parking. And she read it out loud. Two weeks prior to that I called ahead of time and the guy on the phone(which was very nice). Said I would get free parking. I showed up at the front desk. They were rude and did not believe me. We've been there many times before and never had problems. It was my girl friends favorite spot. But now she does not even want to step in there anymore. To bad but there are a lot of other places to go. :-)

Room Tip: Don't put up with the front desk service.

We've been to this Hotel many times and always enjoy ourselves. The Jr. Suite was very spacious--and we loved the down pillows and duvets. Bar prices are VERY reasonable--we enjoyed ourselves without the $16 cocktail price we often find in Calgary.

The pool is underwhelming, but we don't go there for that. We are repeat customers for a reason...it is a great spot!

Just got back to the UK following a ten day stay. The Rimrock is an excellent hotel situated a little way outside town and if you are skiing you will need a car to get to and from Sunshine and Lake Louise as we found the transport links inadequate for our needs despite reports to the contrary. Courtesy bus (free transport on showing room key) is ok to town. Every aspect of the hotel was excellent and the food of a high standard. Car park got a little packed at times (for which there is a charge) but overall a memorable stay and would return tomorrow.
