We stayed two nights during our Canadian Rocky trip. It is centrally located to all the stores and restaurants and the views in Banff were fantastic. While walking down Banff Ave the first night we even saw a elk walking in town and eating flowers in front of the stores. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

This is a very busy hotel with lots of tour groups coming and going. It is centrally located on the main street and convenient to all amenities.
The rooms are of a reasonable size and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilties. The bathroom is a tad small but plenty of towels and toiletries.
The car park was being tarmaced whilst we were there but this was not a big issue(they have to upgrade things sometimes!) We just found parking on the road on the next block.
There is an issue with noisy doors - I spoke to the manager that perhaps the door retarders could be improved to prevent them slamming shut. Also it is a good idea to request a room on the back of the hotel, on the third floor and away from tour groups who tend to leave early and forget that other guests are still sleeping!
There is outside noise from people on their way home from pubs and clubs but there is little the hotel can do about this! Take our advice and see if you can get a room on the back and on the top floor.
The bar areas and restaurant are quick and efficient. The food and beers are good and we ate there most nights.This is an excellent hotel for sightseeing and exploring the surrounding area.

We were in Banff for the weekend and stayed in this hotel. Being in downtown Banff is the greatest advantages as all attractions are pretty close by and shopping on Banff Ave. is easy. Also, it is close to most of the good restaurants in Banff. The room was nicely furnished and spacious. The beds are awesomely comfortable. This is important for a good night's sleep after some serious hiking around Banff. Being operated by Brewster has its advantages, so that you can book many of Brewster's tours and packages at the hotel itself (if you don't do it online). The check-in was speedy and same goes with the check-out. One precaution to be taken. Avoid the rooms on facing the road, as noise from the pub and streets below might disturb your sleep.

This is a small hotel located in the heart of downtown Banff. We were given a room on the 4th floor, which required us to walk from one elevator to another, a long walk up and down a short flight of stairs: difficult with luggage. The room itself was clean, but small. It is very basic and could use a facelift.
