This was the first hotel we stayed in on our coach trip to the Rockies and Vancouver. Our room was huge and could not be faulted. Location wise, it's just about the last hotel out of Banff so a half hour pleasant leisurely walk or so to the town centre - may be a bit too far for some but there is a free bus. Breakfast was pretty crowded as there were about 5 coaches staying there! The second day was less crowded as the breakfast times were sensibly staggered. We had a snack in the downstairs bar the night we arrived which was OK. The following night we went to The Keg 5 minutes away and had a very good steak, our first of many in Canada.

Im home from my holiday in Canada, and my stay at the Inns of Banff. Had emergency surgery , so hence the delay in posting this review.
Canada was the most amazing , awesome experience and I hunger for more. You are welcome to view pics on picasa at [-].
The hotel was lovely, yes it was a bit worn and tired looking , mainly in the corridors. It was an old hotel. However it was clean, serviced everyday with fresh coffee towels etc, the staff were more than helpful and friendly and didnt make me feel "odd" because I was travelling alone, as I have experienced in some european places.Yes there was a storm one night and the ceiling dripped water but this was rectified instantly by moving me to a far superior room, so thank you rain as I then woke up to a fantastic view of the mountain every morning. The food was fine, well cooked, not too a la carte which i prefer.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if anyone wishes to email questions about the hotel or canada I will willingly chat as the country and the people have made a great impression on me.I certainly will go back , and for longer.

“Good for what we paid”

We found our stay here quite pleasant. On arrival we upgraded our room to one with mountain views, this was a good choice. The balcony door was frozen shut most of the time, but that wasn't a problem as we didn't want to be out there in -15 anyway.

Overall we found the staff helpful and had no issue for complaint. The bar was open every night and was quite relaxing to sit in. The outdoor hot tub was lovely and cosy .

The ski bus stops on the driveway and very often due to the volume getting on here goes straight to the mountain. The return trip is excellent also as this is one of the first stops.

Their is a garage opposite which sells most things, including Pizza in the evening, milk etc. Also there is an off-license two minutes walk away.

For what it cost we would come back here again.

Was looking for a good value through Priceline and booked this hotel for $220 for a one night stay August 20, 2007. I knew the location of the hotel from a recent trip and the deal sounded ok. I should have read reviews on trip advisor prior to booking.

Upon arrival my wife and I were talked into a $30 upgrade to a view room, which sounded like an ok deal so we took it. Our impression of the staff at the hotel was good, but the bar was closed (told they were understaffed) and it was clear some of the young staff was working 15 hour days just to keep this place open.

We got to our room and the first impression was ok, then we noticed dirty floors. The patio was chipping apart and there was garbage on the patio as well. Then we noticed that there were stains on four of the pillows on our bed, a call to the front desk sent new pillowcases up promptly (with stains on them too). Stains on the towels (and holes) left much to be desired with what was now a $250 night stay. A coffee cup in the room was dirty from a previous guest (or a bad wash) and was smeared with an unidentifiable brown goo. Yuk.

There were no pool towels available as promised, there were stains and splatter marks on the walls in the room. This place was NOT worth the money and left us very sad. We thought that this was going to be the nicest stay of our trip and it certainly was not. We filled out a comment card at the hotel and plan to follow up with a letter to the hotel management company as well.

Save yourself a heartache (and an ache in your wallet) and do not stay here.

Our stay started badly. Having been allocated a room, we found that it had not been prepared after the last guest, and was left with used towels, waste etc. Complaining, we were asked to allow them an hour to prepare the room. We refused on the basis that having spent a day on the road, we wanted to shower and change immediately. We made clear it was their responsibility to find a suitable replacement immediately.

To be fair, and within 15 minutes, we got upgraded to a really nice quad room with a balcony and a great mountain view. Room was clean and comfortable, but incredibly hot. We were surprised that there was no air conditioning and we had to ask for fans to try and cool the room. These were provided but the heat persisted despite the cooling breezez and overall it was not the most pleasant experience of our vacation. This was a shame since the Inn is clearly on the luxury edge of the market and quite expensive even at Banff prices.

Overall, a disappointing stay, even allowing a room upgrade and good quality beds, room furnishings etc. Hotel has several pools and restaurants. At these prices, airconditioning is a must for the summer months.
