“Very good hotel, would stay again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

I stayed in Inns of Banff with my boyfriend (who has stayed in the hotel previously during the skiing season) for 3 nights and would have happily stayed longer. The staff were very reasonable and even though we arrived over an hour before our check in time, were allowed to go straight in. Our room was a good size, clean and up to standard. We only had two issues during our stay. One was the signage in the hotel from our room to the main desk and restaurant. The set out of the hotel is very confusing, and the other was that our TV didn't work properly. However as we were on an outdoors holiday this wasn't too much of a problem and we didn't feel the TV was a vital facility in our room.
The hot tub on the roof is certainly the best part of the hotel with amazing views of the mountains. However its best to go mid afternoon or just before the hot tub gets shut because otherwise you have to share with other people.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as long as you're in the main building and although it is about a 20 min walk from town it is easily done and if you really feel you cant walk the distance there is a free bus that takes you to the town centre anyway. If I come back to Banff for another holiday I will certainly book with Inns of Banff again.

Our family stayed here June 11 for two nights and had a wonderful time. Our room was on the third floor close to the outdoor hot pool. The hotel was quiet at this time, and we were not disturbed by any guest noises. The room was clean, spacious and equipped with a coffee maker, kettle and fridge. The views were spectacular!
Later in the trip, we visited the Miette Hot Springs, and we all agreed that relaxing at the hotel hot pool was much better.

We got a suite with a jacuzzi. We walk in and there it was. A welcome sight after a long first day on the road. Friendly helpful staff. Very clean hotel. Amazing views(we were on the 3rd/top floor). At the far end of Banff Ave, but is only maybe a 10 minute walk to the shops. King bed was very comfortable. Didn't have a chance to try the onsite restaurants. At the top end of what we would pay for a hotel room for 1 night, but the vies from the balcony the next morning kind of made it worth it. There is the rooftop pool as well. Once again, we did not have the time to check it out.

The Inns of Banff offers a deluxe cottage with two bedrooms. It is a reasonable accomodation. The inside of the cottage is on the newer side. The main issue we had was the location of the cottage. it is right next to the main road in Banff- like ten steps from the main road in Banff. Although the staff said it was near the road, we did not realize just how close. When in the mountains we like the option to sit outside on nice days. This is not a pleasant location to do that in. Also, we have young children and it was not feasable for them to have any area to play outside. It is just too close to the road. So, depending on what you are looking for, this might be a good fit or it may not.

Sorry but this place was horrible. We stayed in the 'swiss village'. The room was dark and dull, with the ceiling tiles hanging off and holes in the curtains. Very tired and run-down. Room did not 'feel' clean or safe. I would not recommend this place at all.

I stayed in Banff at the "Inns of Banff" for two night's at the start of May 2011. The check-in staff were quick and efficient and had is in our rooms in a very short time.
The rooms were clean and some of the largest I have stayed in, Fully functional complete with TV, Coffee maker and Kettle. Good sized bathroom and plenty of space for storage of luggage and the like. My room had a balcony looking on the street and the mountain. I did feel the hotel is maybe a bit further out of Banff than I have like, however with the car and the local bus its not really a major issue. Ample undercover parking which is free, along with free Wifi.
Overall a good experience.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 7 nights for a ski trip to Banff. We read some of the negative reviews before leaving and were both a bit dubious, but our worries were completely unfounded. The rooms were massive, with huge comfortable beds, a power shower, organic soap products daily, deep bath tub, daily room service, and the best perk of all - the rooftop Jacuzzi which had views of the mountains. The BEST way to unwind after a hard day on the slopes. We were allocated a room in the main building and I think most of the criticism is about the other building on the premises, but the hotel was well run, comfortable, friendly, and we would definitely go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building!
