“Love! Very good place for families!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We spent one night to relax and I choose this place because of its pools and slides.
The reception made our check in early. The room was clean and organized. It had a complete kitchen with everything necessary to cook and eat. Also the couple's room was separated from the living room with a beautiful stone fireplace.
The pools are really good with more 2 slides for any age to use. Also there was an outdoor hot pool. ;)
The holtel offers a complimentary bus pass to access Banff downtown or you can walk as well is very close. By car 5 minutes. I highly recommend this place and I would return with my family.

We stayed for 7 nights from Sunday to Saturday night. It was a base to travel to Norquay, Sunshine and Lake Louise Ski resorts. It cost us $1700 for 6 in a 1 bedroom loft apartment. There were 2 double beds in the room and 1 double wall bed in the living area. We got bacon and eggs in the fridge for the first night. After skiing we used the hot tub and pool. The gym was basic but good for aerobic stuff. We didn't use the gym on days we went snowboarding. There was a fire place. You could chop your own wood and light fire. Parking was undercover for loft room residents. Great for our people mover. The town was 15 mins away by car. There were free busses every 45 mins compliments of Douglas Fir but we had a car. We cooked dinner most nights and staff help load the dish washer. Thanks.

This is the third year in a row we've stayed as part of our annual family trek to Banff for the Santa Claus Parade. Indoor water slides are a bit hit for the kids and the new outdoor hot tub is a great addition! Condo units with mini kitchen plus communal BBQs are great for budget meals or just to take a break from downtown Banff. Highly recommended for families.

we had stayed here before and enjoyed it immensely. that would be me, wife, and kids age 4 and 6. this time we were at another hotel but wanted the kids to have some fun at the waterslides and pool. it says public welcome. after paying $12 per person, getting changed, it wasn't until we were out of the change room and going to the pool area that we seen the construction. there were no signs to let us know. the staffer who took the money didn't tell us. the young blond staff member was too busy reading a book to even notice we were there. while the slides might be fine, it would have been nice to know that there was nowhere for our little guys, especially the 4 year old, to just swim. with being limited to staying close to the pool steps, unless you wanted the kids to get hit by people coming down the slides, it was poor. we decided forget it. the girl that took the money could not comprehend why this would be a problem. while waiting to leave, the 6 year old wanted to play the air hockey that is near the check in. we would have but the staff were busy using it as a folding table for towels. we played some at the pool table. i was then surprised to see them leave the towels on the air hockey table apparently unaware that people might actually use it. overall, thoroughly disappointed. the poor staff make me re-consider going back there again.

This is a great place for kids. The play zone, the water slide, and the games room keep the kids busy and away from screens. There was a hockey team staying there. The kids had no parental guidance so around 11pm we called front desk to enforce the rules of no hockey in the halls.Three phone calls later, there was no intervention, so my husband stepped out. The kids scattered, but continued to party. A bad sleep was had by all that were trying to sleep. And we were disappointed by the lack of action from the front desk. Other wise it was great. The kids enjoyed the water slides as my husband and I enjoyed the peaceful outdoor hot tub, with a view.
the signage around the resort is poor. So easy to get turned around and lost.

Room Tip: 319 had a beautiful mountain view and a huge, did I say huge deck?

We had a great time with our family - the play area was clean, safe and fun. The hot tub was great to end the evening and the kids also enjoyed the water slide.

Check in was no problem and guest services we had no issues.

This was our second time here and is wonderful for families.

Only problem I seen was the amount of spiders we killed in the room. Wow they were fast!

We will be back!

I booked a room at this hotel on line for one night as I was going to Banff for business. I had booked it through Bookingbuddy.com. (Hotels.com) About 1 hour after booking I received a call that my business was going to be pushed back 1 day. I went a cancelled it with in an hour. I got confirmation that it was cancelled. I payed for it on paypal and noticed that I was still charged for the room. I was told that there was a no refund policy on the package. Never saw anything in there info about that. only that they had a policy of not with 24 hours of said booking. Not impressed at all. I spend at least 10 to 15 nights per year there on business. Will never book into Douglas Fir Resorts again.
