“Exceptional value...best place to stay in Banff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Our favorite place to stay in Banff is the only place we have stayed in Banff! We stayed at the Bow View Lodge for 4 nights while attending the Canada Volksmarch Convention held at the major lodge next door. We liked it so much we extended for an additional night, at an even lower price! Desk staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. The room was small, but had a refrigerator and table with chairs. Only negatives: no microwave and no complimentary breakfast. Restaurants, as well as a Tim Horton's donut shop, are available within about 2-3 blocks. Lodge next door also had a restaurant but we did not try it. Best thing about the room was the small balcony that opened up to a view of the river beyond a pleasant lawn with a totem pole. Without the river view, the room would not have been so great. Also great was the hotel swimming pool in the adjacent property that we were permitted to use. The water was exceptionally clean and blue...the pool area had a gas fireplace. A steam room was also available. As mentioned, you can easily walk to the downtown with a variety of restaurants. We especially enjoyed the Irish and Indian restaurants, and an icecream place called, the Cow. Free parking was available in a small lot next to the building.

Room Tip: Get a room on the river side. 310 on third floor had lovely view.

Our room was a little dated but was clean. Liked having a fridge in the room and table and chairs which enabled us to shop at the supermarket and eat in the room - a nice relaxing change when you've been on the go all day. We had the buffet breakfast at the sister hotel and it was lovely. The highlight was seeing a grizzly bear just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel by the riverside path

Two day visit (fourth visit in last three year.) Everything was good, as expected. Front desk service is unusually competent and friendly. Location is within two blocks of downtown Banff, which eliminates the need to drive and find a parking spot when you go out on the town. Excellent value for money - quiet, beautiful views, handy. We will certainly use this hotel again!

Room Tip: Book a river view room - it might cost a little more, but the view is worth it!

This is a great place to stay, friendly helpful staff, and walking distance to everything you could need in Banff. Right on the Bow River so lovely to open the drapes in the morning and see the deer along the river and all the canoers out in the bright colours canoes. We loved our stay here although a little older in style Bow Lodge still offered all the comforts .. Thank you for a great stay and the room with a view.

Room Tip: If you stay here ask for a room with a river view. The road along the river is very quiet and you o...

I had a great stay here. Came back tow days later and stayed again.
This is not your big splashy hotel, just good clean accomadation for a very reasonable price.
The rooms were clean with all the right things, TV,fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc etc.
There was nothing that needed attention from the maintanace staff everything was in good condition and clean.
It is so close to downtown but yet just off the beatten path so it is nice and quiet.
Parking was free not another added cost. The pool and rec facilities are available if you want to use them but are across the parking lot and part of another complex. I didnt use them.
I will happily use this hotel again. The pricing is great and I dont need big and fancy to be happy. Just comfortable and clean with friendly staff, and that is just what this place offers.

Room Tip: Both rooms I stayed in were basic rooms. No view but I wasnt there to look out my windows. They were...

Quiet yet convenient location slightly off Main Street with free parking behind Park Lodge (you can pay $10 per night to park in parking garage)...
Wonderful friendly front desk and service staff...
You also have access to Park Lodge swimming pool...
There is a small fridge and fan in room...
Just a couple of blocks from Safeway grocery...
Room has a nice small sofa/loveseat...
A balcony provides a nice place to sit outside although the view on one side is the rear of the Park Lodge and everyone else sitting outside...Choose a room facing the Bow River...
Step outside and you are next to a good walking trail along the river...
Internet works well (there is a posted fee but we were not charged)...
BUT...
Don't book a room near the rear stairwell... the closing door creates some much noise there is actually a sign on one floor... Just closing our own door was impossibly loud...
Older hotel and the TV only worked one of the four days we stayed...
There are much less expensive hotel choices with larger rooms...
We paid $132.31 per night after all taxes and fees for 3 persons...

Room Tip: Avoid a room near the stairwell...
