“Amazing Resort - Don't Hesitate to Book!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2011

Don't be fooled by the negative reviews on this site... this resort is great. True, it is outside of Banff, but it is extremely close. You could probably walk there if you like the outdoors! It's about a 2-3 minute drive to Banff from the resort. Busses pick up from the resort to Lake Louise, Sunshine, and Norquay directly so you don't even have to worry about driving. My boyfriend and I stayed in the One Bedroom Condo with in suite kitchen, and it was absolutely perfect for us! The wood burning fireplace was definitely a plus. It is true that you have to walk from your room to the lobby where the hottub is, but is that really a big deal? You are going to hottub, chill out! The outdoor hot tub is big and really nice. This resort is different from the ordinary hotel; I love that it had seperate buildings and seemed more like lodging. Just one warning: request the top level of the place you will be staying. We were on the floor level and could hear people walking around upstairs. But we were up early to snowboard so it didn't really bother us!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights while visiting Banff. The hotel is located outside the downtown core not far from the highway, so it was quite peaceful and quiet. The room was great with a Queen sized bed, gas fireplace, sofa and fridge. We had free parking right in front of our room and a decent view of the mountains. We bought a weekend package which included free passes for some attractions in town and found the price was very reasonable.

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to Banff. It is a beautiful place and we are all quite lucky to be able to enjoy what the National Park has to offer.

If you want a place that is just inside of Banff and away from the hussle & bussle of a busy downtown, then this place is a must espically since there is an hourly FREE bus shuttle.

The front desk folks are all ultra polite and useful, the room is well, "cozy". They are on the smallish side but they are very clean.

The only issue our family had is we were on the bottom floor and the people staying in the loft above could be heard walking (STOMPING) at 6 AM each morning.

The restaurants are like the room, much smaller than the brochures make them out to be but the Sunday buffet for $10 is worth every dime!!

The outdoor & indoor pool are decent sized while the sauna is smallish. Be warned though, bring water shoes because the locker room floors are disgusting...it's the only reason this hotel did not score a 5 in cleanliness.

Glad to hear you thought the Sunday bruch was a good value. Working on the changerooms by having extra staff on duty over the peak periods. Thank you for your candid comments.

I stayed here with my wife and two young children(3 and 5 yrs old). We booked at the last minute and this was one of the only properties left with rooms available. This made me a little nervous. Here is what you need to know about this hotel; The Bad; It is right off the hwy and not close to the town of Banff. The pool and change facilities are not very clean. The rooms are in different buildings from the Pool and restaurant etc. The Good; You might find that It is nice to stay a little further away from the town on a loud busy weekend. They have a shuttle to downtown Banff leaving every hour. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Fridges and fireplaces in rooms. Outdoor hot tub. Front desk staff are nice and helpful. I'm not sure what a good price for a hotel in Banff on Family Day long weekend is, but the $179 we paid seems reasonable for what we got. They really need to look at cleaning up the pool and change rooms to make this a better place to stay.

Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate hearing the good and the bad as it helps us improve the service we provide. We have added an extra staff member to help keep the changerooms clean on extremely busy nights. Even if you do not give us another try we hope you return to Banff to enjoy Banff National Park.

the setting...beautiful!! the condo...clean..well equipped...fireplace nice touch...$7 for a bundle of firewood? overpriced. the mattress on the pullout couch? the worst i have ever seen...never mind the frame of said couch...slantboard anyone? the condo`s are advertised as good for 4...not so...good for 2 ...bring your own air mattress or mattress foam and maybe good for 3...if you sleep the wrong way. i would recommend that if there are more than 2 of you...get the 2 bedroom condo with at least 2 real beds or someone in your party will be very tired and very sore.

We appreciate your candid comments about your stay at the resort. We are working on the pull out couches and are trying new solutions like feather beds on top of the mattresses as well as replacing mattresses and pullout couches and frames.

Just returned from our first trip to the rockies........Stunning! Hotel is situated in a very picturesque setting not too far from the town of Banff with courtesy transport available. The rooms are cosy and clean albeit could do with a little updating. The upside, we didnt want for anything, the downside, fridge was noisy!

Spent two nights here for Christmas. We had the loft suite and it was just the right size for us and our adult son.It had been renovated and it was certainly clean.Although we didn't use any of the facilitiesat the resort ,the staff that we did encounter were all very friendly. The short drive into town is not even an issue as the location enhances the experience, one feels like they are in the mountains not in the middle of downtown.Banff ave. can be a very busy thoroughfare and sees constant traffic often. We have stayed here previous times and have always been satisfied with our visit. We used the hot tub then and it was perfect on a cold evening. The woodburning fireplace certainly adds to the experience.Banff is always a beautiful getaway.
