Complete service, including ski locker, indoor parking and a small gym. Well located and kind of clean. But there is one major problem: wi-fi internet, the signal was so poor that we couldn't use it. In 2014, everybody is using wi-fi so you must have it work!! We had the loft room for a very cheap price.... pretty big room and silent.

The hotel room was nice and clean, comfy bed and had everything we wanted. However, it was set-up a bit strangely across a split level. The bathroom was downstairs, with the bed upstairs, and the 'lounge room' was in a hallway on the way to the bathroom and door. That can all be lived with quite easily, especially for a couple of nights, however what we found to be the biggest downfall was the noise. Every night was so loud that it was difficult to get to sleep and stay asleep. We could hear conversations in the next rooms, and there was a constant thunder of people running up and down the stairs. There's no doubt that it's a great location, however, for the amount of noise you could save yourself a lot of money by staying in a hostel.

We stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Banff in January this year. Our stay was comfortable and every effort was made by the staff to ensure our holiday in not only the hotel but the region in general was as happy as it could possibly be! Particular mention I really wish to make is about front desk Justine! Such a happy girl who it was easy
to see really loved her job. She really took us under her wing and we felt like we had family to come back to each day to share our tales of fun and adventure .The hotel was definately around a 3 star but the location was perfect and the service was
definitely a 5! Would stay the again without a doubt and we are really fussy with where we stay and usually stay at 4 + stars!

PLEASE, PLEASE disregard some of the previous reviews as they are either not accurate or made by people that have unreasonable expectations for the dollars they spend on accommodation !!! Yes rooms may be a little bit outdated but they are going to be renovated real soon. REMEMBER this is a 3 star rated hotel, if you want to have all the amenities of a 5 star hotel then go stay in the Banff Springs or the Rimrock and pay 3 times the amount you pay for this hotel !!

The recent review by Shoaib M is a perfect example that was bordering on the ridiculous !!! I was parked between a pick-up truck and SUV with neither vehicle having lost the antenna or roof rack that they had on their vehicles. It clearly states the height restrictions before entering the parkade so unless you are driving a bus or large minivan you will find that most vehicles are accommodated. Regarding having a microwave in your room, what hotel in Banff has one ?? this hotel certainly does not advertise self catering or kitchenette facilities so why would you expect to get one ? maybe you expect a washer and dryer in your room too !!! No restaurant will allow you the use of their kitchen to heat up food that is not purchased from them. Next time you stay in a hotel I suggest you bring a small microwave so that you can heat up all the food you desire. Absolutely ridiculous expectations that most reasonable people will ignore when reading your review.

We stayed here January this year with the Alberta Resident Special and again had a really great time. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in and our room was not ready.We got the code for the underground parking, parked our car and walked to St James Gate for pint of Guinness. We headed back to the hotel and unloaded our bags in the warm underground parking, a great change from the -20 below temperatures outside :=). Every staff member that we met on our way to the hotel reception said hello ! We were checked in very quickly by Stephanie and given an upgraded room as the hotel was not too busy, a gesture that was really appreciated !! Our room was very clean and spacious overlooking the mountains and main street.

We used the aquatic centre steam room and very,very large hot tub, a really nice way to unwind before dinner. Next morning we had breakfast in Ricky's and had great service from Minako and Lanka. Food was really tasty and filling. Check-out was a breeze with the help of David and we were on our way.

This is a great value for money hotel in the heart of downtown Banff, go in with reasonable expectations and you will have a great time meeting really friendly and genuinely helpful staff. If you smile and treat people in a respectful manner then you will find that it will come back to you ten fold.

The rooms were a little small and dated. The hallways didn't feel that clean. The lobby was ok, and location was fantastic. Parking gets full in the evenings, so if you get in late you may be parked in the driving lanes. Wi-fi was spotty, but worked better during the day. You can plug in on the lobby floor. Didn't try the hot tub. Ricky's food is ok, but the service was super slow. Dinner took over 2 hours. Restaurant was only half full. Reception was very polite and had everything ready. You can hear the trains go by, and the fridge in the room is nice, but the compressor on it is quite loud.

We have just stayed at the hotel for the past two weeks, we are a family of 6 adults in three rooms, the rooms are large and clean but a little dated, but they did inform us that they are having a refurb this year. We did have a couple of small issues but nothing serious, Ricky's the restaurant was either not open or closed early so we had to eat breakfast and dinner in the bar, which also closes early anything between 9pm and 10pm, the other small problem was housekeeping, they did'nt always leave coffee for the machine, so we did have to ring down for some but nothing was to much trouble for the front desk, they also did not hoover or dust the room for the whole two weeks.
Overall we did have a good time and an enjoyable stay at the Banff International and would certainly stay again.
This is our 9 year to Banff, and a few things I could recomend, Banff Park Lodge for Sunday Brunch and also their theme buffett evenings.4

This place is on Banff avenue and hence the location is really good. The souvenir shops, restaurants, convenience store, gas station and other shopping stores are at walking distance. The hotel rooms inside are clean but seriously outdated.

We were given a tube TV for the bedroom which is what my first TV ever looked like (in 1992). The rooms are weirdly shaped. I had some take out food that I wanted to heat up but there was no microwave. When I asked the staff, they said guests are not allowed to use their microwave in the kitchen. Hence I was reduced to eating my food cold.

The underground parking is nothing but scary. If you have a bigger vehicle like a SUV or a truck, good luck squeezing into the parking. The ceiling is low down to the roof of a sedan car and pipes running all over the ceiling will take out your ski rack, antenna, etc. We had to park outside on the street.

Overall, this place is good if you find nothing else around Banff Avenue and shopping and taking a tour of Banff downtown is your priority. It still remains overpriced for the customer service, room conditions and amenities provided.

Just to add some clarification regarding the televisions in our guestrooms, all our rooms are equipped with a 37" flat screens televisions. Most of our loft rooms have 2 flat screen televisions (one upstairs and one downstairs) however a couple of the rooms have a flat screen television downstairs and a tube television upstairs.

Our underground parking lot is a common clearance of 6'1 ft. Signage is clearly marked in our lobby as well as at the entrance and along the walls of the underground parking lot. In addition, the entrance of the parking lot has chains hanging down from the ceiling, if these touch your vehicle, then it is to high for our underground.
