“Banff for 3 days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Enjoyed the jacuzzi after skiing for a few days. Breakfast was very good. I recommend this hotel, It is only 5 minute walk to the shops. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very nice to have heated underground parking in winter. The bed seemed a bit old and would have liked another blanket. There were only 2 choces of meat within the breakfast and they were both sausages, we like bacon. :) I would not ramble on this much about petty things but I have to write 200 characters. One note, I did a lot of research to find a good hotel and I am happy with my choice.

We have stayed many times at this hotel and I do feel it is the best value for our family in Banff. We get a family suite which has 2 Queen beds in one room and has a separate bedroom with one Queen Bed. There are 2 large TVs, a fridge, microwave, patios, and wifi. A warm pool with a hot tub. Hot breakfast. Friendly, accommodating staff that make us feel welcome. No issues at all and we will keep coming back.

We had a standard room with two queen beds on the third floor. The room is a generous size and comes with TV, small fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There were also two wingback chairs and a table. the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was great and meet our diverse needs.

On the down side, we all found the room very hot and were unable to turn the heat down (the thermostat was set to 55f as it was). We could have opened the patio window, but that would have really overloaded the heat system. We also all noticed that the noise from the hallway came right into the room. The door or that wall was not soundproofed. Noise from neighbouring rooms was not noticeable by comparison

We really appreciated the underground parking although I warn folks to watch out for the low pipes etc. I clanged my head on one and it wasn't pleasant.

bottom line, we would stay here again.

Room Tip: I don't think there could be a bad room here.

So far, the Best Western is great for our family of five. The WiFi works great which we appreciate as we have stayed were it did not work so we'll and it is sorely missed. Breakfast had a good variety. Our room was clean and had good space for 5. Kids loved the pool, not much seating room for parents if you wish to just watch, but nice heated swim.

Considering the options available in Banff, we will probably not stay at this hotel again. Day one; arrived to a cold room, took kids to pool that was smaller than the picture looked on the web site, pool was cold, hot tub was luke warm, due to lack of 'black out' curtains large windows radiated alot of cold, thus requiring the heater to be on high fan on high...got to listen to the fan all night and the person in the bed close to the windows was cold. Day two; first of four key card failures Day three; more key card failures, another fan filled night!! It was a cold spell when we were there, so if it was warmer the rooms would probably be fine, we just had a bad stay. View of the mountains was awesome, beds comfy, bathroom very nice, rooms clean, breakfast was good enough, staff friendly and helpful. Its not bad, if no bookings available else where I would stay there again, parking and location were good.
