“Comfortable facility away from the beaten path.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We needed a last minute room with some sort of stuffed chair. This hotel had a king with jacuzzi and a sofa bed. It was all they had to meet our need and was a bit expensive considering we didn't need the jacuzzi ($300 US) -- all hotels in Banff are expensive. But it satisfied our needs. The room could use a little upgrade but was clean and comfortable and quite (first floor). It was July and not necessarily warm as had thundershowers that day -- no heat available in the summer and the room was very cool -- didn't realize there was no heat so ran the fan and made the room cooler before finally asking. The desk did loan us a small electric room heater and that took the chill off. The facility is off the beaten path and that helped to keep it quiet.

I made the reservation for this hotel with trepidation as prior reviews indicated there were issues. I was not far off in my expectations. The room (3 beds) was small and the restroom had an odd smell. The breakfast was crowded but good and staffed by a great couple of ladies who worked very hard to accommodate everyone. The location was good (close to downtown), but the room was nothing special for $250 a night. Also, the garage was a real pain to get into and around in.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for the 3 bed room. It wraps around the elevator, so it's really small for...

Hotels in Banff are expensive. We paid $250 US per night to stay here. NOT worth the money. We stayed in room 105. During our entire stay we had a leak in our bathroom from the ceiling...not sure where it came from but we call the front desk twice to fix it. They simply sucked up the water and no fix on the leak. Our room smelled of musty basement, i'm guessing its from years of that unfixed leak.
The fan in our room banged and clanged anytime is ran. We called to have it fixed, they did and the problem started back up an hour after maintenance left.
The entire hotel is dirty. Walk around in your room with white socks for an hour and you will see what I mean.....gross!
You have no view of the mountains here but a nice 2 block walk to the shops.
Staff was friendly but not real helpfull.
This place needs attention. We will not be back to this hotel. Spend a little more to get a clean room! This was not worth the money...

Room Tip: Stick to second floor rooms. You will have a belcony and a small view. But I wouldnt stay here if...

Room had bad smell on arrival. In previous stay, a billing problem. One thing remains constant: superb service. Room was quickly switched, staff persisted until billing problem cleared up (calling nearly daily), and staff incredibly considerate when spouse was ill in researching, recommending doctor, doing housekeeping around resting time.

On my search for hotels in Banff area I came across this hotel the prices looked more reasonable than any other hotel in the area and they let 4 adults stay in the same room. Upon arrival the reception looked very friendly she explained everything without me having to ask and she also asked me if I needed a crib for my baby boy. The room at first glance was also very nice we were on the main floor and had access to their patio area with benches and tables which was great for having a light lunch or beer. But the problem started when I put my 11 month old son on the floor to crawl around a little it wasn't even 5 minutes when we realized all his body is covered in black dirt so we had to keep him off the floor for the remainder of our stay which is absolutely difficult with an active 11 months old. another problem happened when we asked for a blanket for my son and they brought us a very thin blanket so my husband took it to reception to ask for a warmer blanket the receptionist changed it but he looked annoyed. The next morning we went for a long walk when we came back at 3 o'clock our room was still not made. I don't really recommend this hotel to anyone with young children if you start looking early you can find better hotels with the same price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that opens to the patio on the main floor.

Needed a place to stay in Banff and this fit the bill.

It was cheaper for us to take one large room (loft room) than our usual 2 rooms.

The room was nice, clean and pleasant.

Easy walking distance to downtown made for a nice stroll to get dinner and back.

We only went to the restaurant for breakfast and it was fine.

Room Tip: Loft rooms are upstairs ... hotel has no elevators.

Nice clean hotel, walk to downtown. Very quiet and with a great view.We had some maintenance issues which they took care of very well. Our room would not lock from the outside. They gave us a different nicer room .
