“Great Value in Banff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

The Alpine B&B is an excellent base for visiting Banff. It's not large and breakfast is not fancy, but it is clean and close to everything. We walked from here to the Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, the Cave & Basin, and downtown. Americans should note that this facility does not have washclothes as we know them - we were not terribly surprised since we have traveled in the Far East it is the same there. Great value!

I give them a 5 for being exactly as advertised. This is a no frills room with clean bed, bathroom, microwave and fridge with some instant breakfast items. Perfect for someone that doesn't want much for breakfast and place to put their head at night and be out all day. The house is not marked - turn at the "Hidden driveway" sign and go to the door on the deck. There is plenty of parking and motion sensor lighting if you arrive or leave during the dark. Be sure to lock the main door behind you when you come/go. The light switch is at the top of the stairs and by room 1. These are basement rooms so you'll have to be able to carry your suitcase up and down a flight of stairs. My alarm clock has a thermometer on it. The rooms are heated/cooled by central air, and remain a constant 68 degrees unless the temp drops close to freezing outside and the heat comes on at night. If that is too cool for you, they will provide a radiant space heater to take the nip out of the air. You will hear the pitter patter of the family's feet above, but there are signs asking for quiet after 11 PM and most everyone is in bed by then. Unlike a hotel where you could hear noise/voices all night long. Cut through Cascade Gardens to skip a crosswalk getting to downtown. The grocery store is just a couple of blocks from the bridge on Bear/Lynx street if you want special things to eat. I would stay here again for the value and proximity to downtown.

Room Tip: Room 1 is by the stairs and has the window to the yard. It is the room with table and two chairs pi...

We stayed here for 3 nights on our drive through the Rocky Mountains. There were two couples, so we each had our own fully self-contained room with ensuite. The rooms were large, airy, comfortable and clean - as mentioned by previous posters, they are in the basement, but they all have windows so they were not dark at all. Breakfast was left in the fridge for us each day, and we also had a microwave and coffeemaker - breakfast included bread, muffins, oats, yoghurt, spreads etc, and there was plenty of it..

We didn't see much of Anthony and Ana (and young some, Matthew), but when we did they were friendly and helpful.

The location of Alpine B&B was excellent - not far to the main town, but also on the road up to the Banff Gondola, the Banff Hot Springs, and the Fairmont Chateau. It was easy to find our way around. Would happily recommend this B&B to other travellers.

We stayed with Anthony in August 2013 for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. Convenient for the town, clean and quiet, comfortable bed with lovely quality sheets, and a great continental breakfast with healthy options to eat. Everything we could want was available in the room and we would stay there again and recommend it to friends. Thank you Anthony!!

Room Tip: Our room was in basement so only a small window on to garden, but we liked it because it was quiet.

I echo the good reviews if previous posters. I dealt with Anthony via email and he was helpful. On arrival we found the room to be exactly as described on the web site. Clean. No frills. Comfortable. Quiet. Great location a quick walk to town. Anthony was friendly on check in. The breakfast supplied is plenty to do us for breakfast and we took the bagels/bread for our lunch to see us through exploring the area. Great wifi reception compared to other places we've stayed. Great value. Would stay again.

Clean. Small. Basement. Not soundproof (noisy late when we were there). Well located.
Frugal breakfast. Nice people but wife doesn't speak much english and husband works late and leaves early.
Still reasonable price for Banff.
Very hot at night when we were there (no temp. control).

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs.

This was a great find! A neat, comfortable, no frills room. Very close to central Banff, but in a quiet area. The location and the value just couldn't be better.

The room has a nice fridge, where you get a continental breakfast which includes bread/bagels, yoghurt, cereal/oatmeal, cream cheese and jam. It is comfortable because in Banff you want to go out early to look for animals, and taking breakfast with you is a great option to have.

The hosts are very friendly.

Definitely very highly recommended.
