“Fantastic Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2011

We spent 2 nights at Susan's B&B. Absolutely fabulous location. A few minutes walk and we were right in town. The Inn is new and very tastefully decorated. The two room have their own entrance and eating area. Very convenient and didn't disturb Susan when we wanted to make a drink. Breakfast was very nice and Susan was willing to chat and talk to us about her experiences living for many years in Banff. She was a wealth of knowledge and helpful when we were deciding what to do each day. Would definitely stay there again.

“Biggest beds in Banff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

We spent three nights at Susan's place. The room was really cosy and the bed was big enough to get lost in, and VERY comfortable! The shower was nice and powerful.

The B&B is in the other side of the house to where Susan lives so you have a lot of privacy, but Susan is only a knock on the door away.

The breakfasts are home-made but be warned, you must have a sweet tooth! They certainly kept us going most the day and on the last day Susan let us take a doggy bag with the things we couldn't quite squeeze in.

The breakfast area also works as a communal area where you can help yourself to tea and coffee through out your stay, which was nice after a long day walking.

Its a two minute stroll to the main town and close to numerous restaurants. For pizza, try the 'Tavern', and make sure you try it with honey. Sounds weird, but it really works!

Thank you Susan, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back one day.

“Excellent value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

The location is great - just two short blocks from the hubbub of Banff Avenue and in a quiet residential area. Susan does a nice job managing the B&B. The room was comfortable and clean. There was access to the rear garden which has a nice seating area. The breakfasts are good and change daily. Susan chatted with us and the other guests during breakfast and has a wealth of knowledge about Banff and many interesting stories. The B&B is far enough from the train that, although we could hear the horn when awake, it did not disturb our sleep. We stayed for four nights and would return if ever in Banff again.

“Two Thumbs Up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

Our 4 day stay at the Poplar Inn was one of the best "B&B experiences" my husband and I have ever had. The inn's location is just perfect--a very short walk to the local shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean and quiet, with plenty of privacy and tastefully decorated. Susan, our hostess, was just wonderful--always accessible but not hovering, very pleasant and easy to talk to, and a wonderful resource on local history and recreation activities. The breakfasts she served (homemade scones, French toast, tarts, and quiches along with local berries, etc.) provided a wonderful start to our day and were a real treat to our palates. We left with many fond memories of our stay in Banff and a vow to return!
