“Sneaky Practice”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I was most upset with the sneaky way they are sliding their costs of "going green" onto the public. When I questioned this they told me that there was a sign by the washrooms indicating that. When I went back to review the sign, it stated that 2% of sales was being "dedicated" to the practice of going green. They did not indicate that 2% was being CHARGED on top of your purchases for this!!!!
This was on top of paying $30 for the buffet in which much of the food was cold.
No Wi-Fi in the hotel.
I was already expecting the high prices due to other reviews, but I was not expecting the extra "tax".
I will NEVER stop there again.

Small room with two double beds,a dresser and TV with only a few channels. Senior unfriendly - no grab bars in tub or a mat to prevent slipping. Over $200. For the night. Meals ridiculously priced in restaurant and pub where you cook your meat ($13.00)to cook a hot dog based meal!!! No wifi in the room. No coffee in the room and office in the morning. one bar of soap provided.
Would NEVER return.

Room Tip: Go further on to Jasper accommodations.

Arrived at The Crossing Resort after a long and tiring day of hiking. Since I had read previous reviews, there were no surprises. Everything here is overpriced. But there is no other place to stay or eat for miles. The motel room was dated, just a very basic room and painting is needed everywhere. Beds were very ordinary. Check-in was very easy and the clerk was very pleasant and helpful. Due to the location of our room, there was no parking available at the door. We had to carry our belongings farther than was comfortable. The buffet dinner was ok but overpriced. There really wasn't much of a selection and the food was a bit dried out since there were not many people eating there. Our waitress was very attentive and did a good job. Expect nothing fancy here, just an old and overpriced motel.

The setting of this hotel is as beautiful as any I've ever seen. But the food prices are inexcusably high: $2.00 for an apple in the store, $31 for soup, an iceberg lettuce salad and two beers for supper in the bar. At breakfast you have to buy the milk for the cereal separately and are warned against trying to use the milk for the coffee on your cereal...Otherwise,the rooms are fine and the staff is accommodating and friendly.

This was my second stay at The Crossing. It is all about the location and scenery! The room rate is somewhat high, but again you cannot beat the view! All food and fuel at The Crossing is very, very expensive. I only buy what I must have at the resort. Most of the food and fuel I purchase come from Banff or Jasper. The Icefields Parkway will always be one of my top motorcycle rides and well worth spending the money to make it happen.

Booked this as it was around where we thought we would drive to that day. There was 4 of us, and we asked for a family room. Gave us key to wrong room, finally got correct room. Very small. By the time we opened the hide a bed, there was barely enough room for us and our luggage. Mattress pad on hide a bed did not look clean, so we covered it with the 2 clean sheets, and used our sleeping bag .The double bed and the single bed were fine. Good linen, duvet, very clean and comfortable. Was not impressed that they added $15 each for 2 of us. This brought the charge with tax over $200.00. Way too much! We did not buy anything in the restaurant or store. Prices are way too high. I think this resort would do much better if they brought their prices down. We should of stayed in Jasper!

Room Tip: Stay in Jasper, but if you have to stay here, don't book online as they put it through your cred...

Rooms - so-so and quite dated.
Scenery - great
Prices - stupidly expensive for what you get. Stay somewhere else.

Whatever you do, don't buy ANYTHING here. Gas will be 50% more than anywhere else in the province ($1.79 per litre at The Crossing, vs $1.10 per litre everywhere else as of last weekend) and everything else is jacked up by the same amount.
