Well worth taking a steady walk up the mountain. It's very rewarding. Stunning views. A great experience! Loved it.

“Excellent Gondola Ride, Fantastic Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Not being a fan of Gondola rides did not deter me from this trip. It was VERY safe and a smooth ride up the side of Mr. Sulphur. The top station provides a good restaurant and gift shop along with great views, but the BEST is really at the summit another 400 plus steps up. The walkway is VERY climbable with numerous rest stops, very solid wooden planking, and low risers in the steps. Being over 70 years old and not in the best shape, we still both "made it to the top". The view of the city of Banff below, the Banff Springs Hotel, and the entire valley in both directions was gorgeous. You had the feeling that you were walking on the top of the world in that area.
The time spent and value received for the money spent was well worth the experience.

“Gondola”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Took the gondola up and view is breathtaking. Snow on some mountain tops after rain the day before. Was cold enough in the high areas that it snowed. We were quite comfortable in light jackets in August.

“A topper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

The gondalas are small, four at a time and they go off very fast but the ride is smooth. The top of the mountain has a walkway that is 1km long and worth the time taken to do. You need to get right to the top. Saw chipmonks and jays, others saw a goat. But good place to take photos. Staff very friendly but the photo man wants a new job! Good little shop and loos up top. Can walk up and down or one or the other but looked treey to me so maybe not good views?

“Beautiful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

The panorama is awesome from the top. It was clear weather, so we could see far away.
There is a wooden walkway to walk from the upper station of the Gondola. It was very nice to walk all the way at this trail. There are a lot of stairs, but it was not fatiguing to walk up there.
