Ok, I have read a few reviews here and let me state that the lake and Hotel are not that amazing and average at best. what makes this an execellent area to visit are the activities in both winter & summer.
Winter- Ice castle on the Lake that you can skate around or like majority simple walk around, Fire pit also on the side of the lake to try to keep you warm ( Never lit though), sleigh rides, cross-country skiing and Downhill Skiing at the Lake Lousie Ski hill. If someone ever says there nothing to do at Lake Louise it simple means nothing that they want to do!!
Summer - Again Lake not that interesting but hiking to the tea house, Big Bee hive or Little Bee Hive are simple amazing and give a great view of the lake from high up on the Peaks. Also add Plains of the Six Glaciers & Paradise Valley to hikes and you have done some of the best hikes in the Rockies. If you want to Scamble or Climb one of the tallest Mountians in the Parks head over to Lake Moraine and head to the bases of Mt Temple. Mtt Temple can be an challenge depending on fitness level but offers great veiws of the Whole Valley and beyond.
Again, The Lake its self isn't that great but all the activites equals an amazing experience in the Rockies.
