“Good home cooked food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Ate her two nights on the trot as we were staying in a nearby B&B. Very friendly welcome even when we popped in just before a large party of 30 from the village. They took our order double quick to get it into the kitchen before the main group. Excellent, friendly service. Great food, particularly recommend the pies, the steak was very good quality. Decent price, great beer from Palmers Brewery.

“Excellent End to a Wonderful Dorset Walk.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

After a morning out walking a friend and myself decided to stop at The Three Horseshoes for lunch. The Palmer's Tally Ho was a wonderful pint (or three) after a thirsty morning's walk and despite being tempted by a specials board of venison, rabbit and pig's trotters as well as an excellent, varied menu we settled for Ploughmen's Lunches.

I have to say it has been a long time since I enjoyed a Ploughman's Lunch more. It was well presented with lovely warm bread and a huge hunk of cheese accompanied by a fresh, tasty salad - superb value for money and top quality.

The friendly owners and staff are relatively new to this wonderful old hostelry. They have chosen difficult economic times to take on a new venture, however, on this showing they will attract local people and visitors alike. The Dove Inn in Burton is still sorely missed so the wonderful home-made food, sourced locally will be much appreciated in this lovely village.

“Very friendly staff and lovely good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Visited here on the way to west bay.

Had arrived 20 minutes before it opened so had to wait! It was definitely worth it though.

Great home cooked food and they were very accommodating when we asked for a smaller portion for our 90 year old grandad as his appetite isn't as good as it was!

Will definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

“Just what we were looking for and exactly what it said on the tin!.”

Good quality of food which was well presented. Service was friendly and professional if a little hurried. Would eat there again with confidence.

“Lovely place and friendly atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

As we were staying in Burton Bradstock we thought we would give this pub a try. Myself and my partner were welcomed, not just by the owners, but we also got chatting to some of the locals who were extremely friendly. The food is great and the open fire was very welcoming on a chilly evening. Charlie our cocker spaniel was also welcomed. I was surprised to read the negative reviews about the landlady, as we chatted to her throughout the evening and found her very friendly. Personally we couldn't fault this pub and would visit again. So thank you from Amy and Steve.
