“Wedding 22nd August - Fantastic experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Can honestly say this was the perfect choice of location for our wedding. The staff went out of their way in terms of service to our guests. The guests themselves were raving about the high standard, not to mention the more than ample portions, of the food itself. We had options of beef and turkey & ham for the main - the beef cut was like a sirloin steak (as it was for each of the guests that ordered it), and the turkey and ham was amazing also (i'm told). Our guests ate and drank their fill which made for enjoyment on both their part and of course ours. The room itself was breathtaking and the staff ensured the transition from dining to dancing was quick and hassle free for our guests, its a round room with no corners so all our guests felt included - rather than given restricted viewing seating. We had an amazing experience with special praise reserved for Deirdre especially as we have dealt with her from the outset, she is thoroughly professional and extremely warm and courteous, and to Walter (the GM) who's guidance on the day ensured the whole process was stress free for us and flawless for our guests from start to finish. GET MARRIED HERE!!! The Dohertys did and loved every minute.

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite is amazing, very spacious, massive king size bed, double shower and jacuzzi bath.

Went here for a meal with friends in the bar . It is very nice , food is good and decor tasteful if slightly dark. Good place to eat but food did not blow me away. It is handy to the Maiden City and North Donegal . The reception area was very spacious and nice to sit and relax.

Stayed here for two nights for a large family wedding, with guests from all parts of UK and Ireland and abroad. Staff very helpful indeed and the whole wedding experience went very smoothly with a first class wedding meal served. Room was very comfortable, though a little warm-but then all hotels seem to be too warm nowadays. We ate several times in their delightful converted church and the meals were fine. Would highly recommend as a wedding venue.

Found the staff at this hotel very friendly. After we had arrived and had a meal in the lounge one of the staff opened up the church were the restaurant is to show us the building and to let us know where to go to breakfast without even being asked. The old church building is really impressive. Rooms were fine - clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good - nice to have your cooked food brought to your table instead of buffet style. Husband would recommend the porridge with a touch of whiskey!

My sister and i both booked double rooms for a family wedding, when we got there they had only one of us booked and had no other rooms available, the receptionist told us quite aggressively to take a seat and she would get back to us, after waiting for what felt like an hour she came back to tell us there was nothing she could do.Much to my disappointment my sister had to book a taxi home. Meal was just okay had probably been sitting under a lamp for quite some time, when the coffee cups came out after dinner the cups were dirty, we couldnt believe it!! Breakfast was terrible, everyones toast was black, i had to send bacon back as it wasnt cooked, there was a glass case with fruit in it and there was flies flying around inside the case!! Very disappointing and not a cheap night either, definitely will not be returning here!!

we stayed 2 nights for a friends wedding. no complaints at all. less than 2 hours drive from Belfast airports. good parking, very friendly staff, hearty breakfast in the old church, nice bar and generally a nice place. modern, clean and spacious room = great stay! plenty of places to visit. we loved the causeway coast drive.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in July when it was really hot (yes, hot, in Donegal). Our welcome was lukewarm and the hotel itself was stiflingly warm. This became worse when we got to our room - like an oven. Anyway, dinner came next - a chaotic and busy affair with too few staff on, creating the urge to get up and help clear some tables.

The best bit by far was the breakfast. You take this in the converted church next door and it was just fabulous. Try the porridge! You'll love it.

Anyway, I won't go back (having now nabbed the porridge ideas for myself) and would rather spend my money on a neat little B n B instead.
