This was a challenging course, very well maintained with lots of water and sand traps. It was nice that you did not have to take a caddy. Price was $130 US if booked locally and about a 15 minute drive ($7 US taxi ride) from Riu Jalisco. Friendly staff. There is a tiger in a cage but we did not see it. Highly recommend this course.

What a great place to play golf. Every aspect of my two rounds was great. Let's start with the pro shop. The girls behind the counter treat you with respect and courtesy. The first round we booked through ----. I presented my reservation printout and it went smooth as silk. The driving range is right outside the pro shop. The attendents wiil take your clubs right down and bring you range balls to hit. They'll give a quick review of the local rules, etc. Yes, they do work for tips so have $2 or a 20 peso note ready.

The greens were a tad on the quick side, but very manageble. The cart paths are wide with plenty of room on either side - a hallmark of resort style golf. Not too many blind shots, so you never get in too bad of trouble. The fairway grass is great but is inconsistent with respect to moisture, or firmness under the ball. I take deep divots, but if you don't it won't bother you. This is due to the fact that I played the first week of June - no rain for some time. They water heavily, so the firmness of the fairways will be this way.

An attendent will travel around and restock your water cooler at no charge - a great touch. The beer cart is never too far away.

When you're done with the round the attendents will clean you clubs and shoes, if you want. (another $2 tip) and call up a cab for you.

If I am fortunate enough to return to Nuevo I will deffinately play the El Tigre every day.
