“Great staff, but way too far from Puerta Vallarta!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Me and 6 of my friends just got back from Villa Varadero from a weeklong trip. Not that it's a bad thing, but we were pretty much the only english speaking tourists at the resort, so it felt a little exclusive. Definitely have a lot of locals eating and staying at the hotel. We were pretty disappointed about how far away it is from downtown Puerta Vallarta where all the fun bars and shops/markets are. The website says it is just a 20 minute drive, but keep in mind that that's if you take a taxi (around $380 pesos each way). We took the city bus one day (around $16 pesos each way) and it took about an hour to get into town, so then we ended up spending a ton of money on taxis, since there aren't really any restuarants around the hotel. We had the all-inclusive deal which I would say is below-par for food quality. The breakfast was the best meal of the day, so eat up lol...
On the plus side - the hotel staff is excellent! They are all extremely helpful and willing to make your stay great. Me and my friends are drinkers and made good friends with JP at the pool bar, who makes the drinks strong and has good conversation.
If you are looking for a getaway from the busy city then I would recommend staying here. If you are wanting to party and be near what's happening in Puerta Vallarta, pay more and stay closer to the city!
Cheers!!

Room Tip: Ask for a Superior room - great ocean/pool views!!

This hotel is small but nice. The rooms are nothing fancy but they were clean and the view is great. The stretch of beach is pretty, but not as nice as PV. The hotel is located in Nuevo Nayarit which is not close to downtown PV. If the intentions of your trip are to visit the Malecon and experience what PV has to offer - stay somewhere closer.

The area around the hotel (shopping, clubs, etc.) is non-existent. You will have to take a taxi or bus to get to the fun areas. Taxis aren't cheap to get to the good stuff, but the bus routes are easy to learn and really inexpensive.

The price for an all inclusive stay here was very cheap and well worth it. All of the staff was very helpful and happy. The staff was outatanding and made us really feel like we were on vacation. Authentic mexican food in the main restaurant. The beer and drinks tasted good. Our room had a beautiful view.

This area has no nightlife, but a taxi or bus to Puerto Vallarta is very cheap. This hotel, in particular, has a very large population of locals and the television had only one or two english stations which didnt matter much because we didnt spend too much time in the room.

The only real negative thing was that our beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

We had a great stay and will consider staying here again, especially if we could get a room with a more comfortable bed.

If one has to stay overnight only, reasonably close ( 10 minutes drive) from P.V. airport, this is a great spot. Has a nice beach, good pools, and friendly and helpful staff. Within walking distance of a number of restaurants, if one isn't on all inclusive package. Rooms fairly small, but typical Mexican, and quite acceptable.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking the pool, and maybe ocean view

Spend a little more and get a decent vacation. The service here was very good, but the food a big disappointment. The rooms are modest but with great views of the ocean. No balconies. Great beach but poorly furnished. I would not swim in the one pool that they had as its cloudy nature made it not look safe. For a little bit more money, get a four star.

Fantastic hotel in a central location in Nuevo Vallarta. Right on the beach, gorgeous views from your room, what more can you ask for?! The hotel is a simple outlay, with a new side rebuilt not too long ago. A minute walk to the marina where you can sample tapas, eddies place and the tranquility of the classical estudio cafe.Staff cannot do enough for you, so nice and helpful. Especially Hugo. I would deffo recommend this hotel, if you want a real mexican holiday experience.

Just got back from a week at PV. The hotel staff were all pretty friendly. The front desk staff spoke enough english but could have been better. In fact there was a waiter who spoke far better english and probably should have been staffed there. The pools were cold and despite what is on their website, none of them are heated - except by the sun. I brought that to their attention and I see that it still hasn't been changed. In fact, the ocean seemed warmer. The grounds were clean and room was nice. It was our first time staying at an all inclusive so I'm not sure if it was standard, but the breakfast was the same every morning, it didn't begin until 8:30, lunch didn't begin until 2:30 but you could eat at the snack bar beggining at 12:30. In general, it didn't seem to cater to Americans eating times. During the week the hotel was quite. On the weekend there was a lot of Mexicans guests staying at the hotel, and it seemed like the food got better over the weekend when they were there. And the bed was so rock hard we slept on the futon matress in the room, which was a slight improvement. Overall, it was a nice visit but next time we will look for a place with a more useable pool as our fair skin can't handle sitting on the beach long.
